The Frederickson Family Papers (1904-1917) contain documents and photographs related to Goodsprings, Nevada settlers John C. and Elizabeth Frederickson. Materials include bank statements, mining statements, personal correspondence, and college notes.
The Kendall Stagg Collection (1998-2000) consists of material documenting Kendall Stagg’s political races in northern Nevada and also details gay activism in Reno. The collection consists of Stagg campaign materials, a t-shirt from one of his campaigns, and documents pertaining to the Gay, Lesbian, and Bisexual Student Union at the University of Nevada, Reno and Gay Pride parade organizing in Reno.
The Rick L. May Papers document social and political activities of Las Vegas, Nevada's lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) community from 1982 to 1997. The papers include records from the Gay Academic Union of the University of Nevada, Las Vegas; various gay pride celebrations in Los Angeles, California and Las Vegas; the Metropolitan Community Church's outreach to the LGBT community; as well as Rick L. May's own notes and collections about LGBT-supportive stores like R and R Assordid Sundries.
The Cork Proctor Papers document the career of comedian Cork Proctor from 1942 to 2012. The papers include photographs, programs, advertisements, and newspaper articles that illustrate both the longevity and influence of one of Nevada's most famous comedians. From 1972 to 2012, in both Reno and Las Vegas, Proctor consistently worked as a stand-up comedian, writer, and roaster.
This collection comprises records of the Junior Mesquite Club, a womens service organization in operation from 1962 to 1998 in Las Vegas, Nevada. Included are board and membership minutes, correspondence, newsletters, photographs, and reports on the philanthropic efforts of the club. A collection of scrapbooks also chronicle yearly events.
The Soroptimist International of Greater Las Vegas and Paradise Valley Records document the activity of two Las Vegas, Nevada chapters of the women's advocacy group Soroptimist International from 1968 to 2000. The records contain membership information, by-laws, correspondence, scrapbooks, publications, memoranda, and ephemera about women's issues, environmental concerns, and the club's activities in the Greater Las Vegas and Paradise Valley chapters.
The Joseph "Wingy" Manone Papers (1934-1996) include a partial draft of his autobiography, newspaper clippings, correspondence, magazine articles, and press releases related to his musical career. Manone also wrote music, some of which is included in the collection.
The Dick Maurice Papers and Audiovisual Recordings (1958 to 1990 and undated) document his career as a talk show host and as a columnist in Las Vegas, Nevada. It also documents his experience as a hostage during the Trans World Airlines (TWA) Flight 355 hijacking on September 10, 1976. Included are photographs, correspondence, press releases, news clippings, programs, and the transcript of the episode of The Merv Griffin Show on which Maurice appeared.
The Ralph Denton Legal Papers (1950-1993) consist of case files and legal briefs of civil rights attorney Ralph Denton. The cases largely involve civil rights issues and property claims in Las Vegas, Nevada. The files include cases representing individuals as well as companies such as Henderson Telephone Company, Lephrechaun Mining Company, and the Jockey Club Casino.
The collection is comprised of drawings (1965-1996) completed by American architect Gary Guy Wilson and/or his architectural firm, Gary Guy Wilson, AIA, Architect Studios and contains 613 sets of drawings from over 250 different projects. Primarily focused on the Las Vegas, Nevada area, the materials feature hand-drawn architectural drawings, ranging from preliminary sketches to construction documents, and a number of printed computer aided drawings.
