Grace Clement Papers on the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR)

Abstract

Papers are comprised of information on the National Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR), Nevada State Society of DAR, Children of the American Revolution (CAR), and the Francisco Garces Chapter of the DAR, of which Grace Clement was a founding member. Papers date from 1950 to 1986 and include correspondence, bulletins, conference programs, booklets, newspaper clippings, and yearbooks. Also included are correspondence and reports from the Friends of the Museum organization, bylaws of the Nevada Society, and DAR ritual books.

Hal Erickson Correspondence

Abstract

The Hal Erickson Correspondence (1967-1993) documents Erickson's role in higher education at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV). The collection includes letters addressed to Hal Erickson from various Nevada politicians and educators relating to the possible acquisition of materials for the UNLV Special Collections and Archives, service on various boards, and congratulations on his impending retirement. The collection also includes materials that document Erickson's involvement with the national and Clark County Democratic conventions.

Sheilagh Brooks Collection on Nevada Division of Historic Preservation and Archaeology Records

Abstract

The collection contains materials (1967-1991) collected by Sheilagh Brooks predominantly during her time serving on various boards and committees under the Nevada Division of Historic Preservation and Archaeology. Materials include agendas, meeting minutes, correspondence, administrative reports, policies, budget plans, grant applications and guidelines for various federal and state departments. The collection also contains the applications of Nevada sites for the National Register of Historic Places.

Abstract

The Vista Group records are comprised of The Vista Group's legal, financial, and correspondence records from 1986 through 2001. The records include information about real estate developments The Vista Group was involved with in Las Vegas, Nevada. The majority of the records are financial and legal documents related to The Vista Group's ventures.

Holocaust Survivors Group of Southern Nevada Records

Abstract

The Holocaust Survivors Group of Southern Nevada records (1965, 1972, 1999-2016) mainly consist of organizational records created by the board of directors and officers of the group, stories about the experiences of local Holocaust survivors, and ephemera related to the Holocaust Survivors Group and the local Jewish community. Organization records include meeting minutes, correspondence, by-laws, and a list of officers.

Association of Women in Science, Las Vegas Chapter Records

Abstract

The Association of Women in Science, Las Vegas, Nevada Chapter Records date from 1976 to 1999 and cover DeLyle Eastwood's effort to create a local chapter of the Association of Women in Science (AWIS), the completion of this goal, and the proceedings of the Las Vegas AWIS chapter. The mission of the chapter was to help women in science career fields, both in the industry and university setting, achieve success in their fields. The AWIS also held seminars to spark early interest in science for young girls.

Frank Scott Papers

Abstract

The Frank Scott Papers date from 1940 to 1984 and contain promotional materials, photographs, and menus from the Union Plaza Hotel; University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV) basketball memorabilia; and KRLR TV documentation, correspondence, and news clippings. The collection also contains a scrapbook and photographs of the re-opening of the Mizpah Hotel in Tonopah, Nevada.
