Biographical / Historical Note
The Desert Sculptors Association of Las Vegas, Nevada was founded in 1986 by three local sculptors, John Kane, John Stockman, and John Benton. Their vision was to promote sculpture and create a venue where local artists could gather and share artistic ideas. The sculptors work in many different media including bronze, wood, metal, stone, clay, glass, porcelain, and plastic, as well as mixed media. The Desert Sculptors Association has many of their sculptures displayed at Hoover Dam, Nellis Air Force Base, on the streets of Boulder City, Nevada, the Southern Nevada Veterans' Cemetery in Boulder City, Firefigher's Memorial Park, and Lorenzi Park in Las Vegas, Nevada.
