Jewish Repertory Theater of Nevada Records

Abstract

The Jewish Repertory Theater of Nevada (JRTN) Records are comprised of playbills, advertising, and magazine and newspaper clippings gathered by Norma Marrow Zuckerman, founder and artistic director of the JRTN, dating from 2011 to 2016. The records include information about the types of plays produced by the JRTN. The records also include information about fundraising events held to benefit the JRTN.

Matthew O'Brien Papers

Abstract

The Matthew O'Brien Papers is comprised of records from approximately 2001 to 2011 that document writer Matthew O'Brien's work for two of his Las Vegas, Nevada based non-fiction novels, Beneath the Neon: Life and Death in the Tunnels of Las Vegas and My Week at the Blue Angel: and Other Stories From the Storm Drains, Strip Clubs, and Trailer Parks of Las Vegas. Collection materials include research files, chapter drafts, photographs, digital files, and correspondence.

Soroptimist International Sierra Nevada Region Records

Abstract

The Soroptimist International Sierra Nevada Region Records are comprised of memoranda, newspaper clippings, brochures, and communications from 1975 to 1998. The collection includes information about the Soroptimist International Sierra Nevada Region chapter's involvement with women's rights issues, primarily the Equal Rights Amendment ratification campaign in Nevada and California, as well as national efforts.

UNLV Libraries Collection on Casino Game Management

Abstract

The UNLV Libraries Collection on Casino Game Management is comprised of management training guides and manuals used in casino management and operations dating from 1982 to 1999 from different hotel casinos primarily from Las Vegas, Nevada. Guides and manuals cover topics such as casino floor supervision and dealer/staff training for table games. The collection includes published guides as well as internal casino procedural manuals and employee handbooks from hotels such as Circus Circus, Mandalay Bay, the Monte Carlo, the Rio, and Harrah's (Laughlin, NV).

UNLV Libraries Collection on Casino Game Protection

Abstract

The UNLV Libraries Collection on Casino Game Protection includes resources on casino security dating from 1975 to 2004 compiled by the University of Nevada, Las Vegas Special Collections and Archives. Materials include published reports related to casino security, gaming legislation, and gaming controls. It also contains information from surveillance information network reports, including the Griffin Book by Griffin Investigations, and other sources that document persons who committed offenses in casinos.

Cindy Coletti Papers

Abstract

The Cindy Coletti Papers are comprised primarily of magazine and newspaper articles, and promotional brochures from approximately 1978 to 2017 about custom home designer Cindy Coletti and her company, Sun West Custom Homes, that was established in Las Vegas, Nevada in 1989. The collection also includes commendations for Coletti from the governor of Nevada and the Nevada congressional delegation for her accompishments as a small business owner.

Dennis McBride LGBTQ Poster and Sign Collection

Abstract

The Dennis McBride LGBTQ Poster and Sign Collection (1977-2018) contains posters and signs created by the Las Vegas, Nevada Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, and Queer/Questioning (LGBTQ) community, collected by historian Dennis McBride. These handmade and commercially printed signs cover events of particular interest to the Las Vegas, Nevada LGBTQ community, including social events, entertainment venues, political rallies, and Gay Pride events.

Dorothy Damrow Lee and Clark "Danny" Lee Papers

Abstract

The collection is comprised of Dorothy and Clark "Danny" Lee's personal ephemera relating to their childhoods and high school experiences in Las Vegas, Nevada during the 1940s and 1950s. The materials focus mainly on Dorothy Damrow Lee's involvement with the Rhythmettes, a Las Vegas High School club. The collection highlights children's and young adults' experiences growing up in early Las Vegas as well as information on Las Vegas High School activities.
