Abstract
The Jack Schofield Papers are comprised of Dr. Jack Lund Schofield's scrapbooks, photographs, and awards from 1968 to 2014. Dr. Schofield was a Nevada System of Higher Education (NSHE) regent, member of the Nevada legislature, and teacher. The scrapbooks document Schofield's involvement with the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV) Aerospace program from the 1960s to the 1990s. The awards and photographs are from NSHE and document Schofield's involvement as a regent.

The scrapbooks are comprised of photographs, programs, brochures, correspondence, and newspaper clippings relating to UNLV's aerospace program. Biographical / Historical Note
Dr. Jack Lund Schofield (1923-2015) was a longtime Las Vegas, Nevada resident, Nevada System of Higher Education (NSHE) regent, member of the Nevada legislature, teacher, and coach. In 1941, Dr. Schofield graduated from Las Vegas High School and married Alene Earl. In 1949, he earned a bachelor’s of science degree from the University of Utah and went on to earn a master’s degree in education from the University of Nevada, Reno in 1953, and a doctorate in education from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas in 1995. During World War II, Schofield served as a B-25H Mitchell bomber pilot for the United States Army Corps during which he flew forty-four missions as a member of the “Flying Tigers.” Schofield worked for the Clark County School District for over forty years, serving as a teacher, coach, and administrator. Schofield served as an Assemblyman in the Nevada State Legislature from 1970 to 1974, and then as a Nevada Senator from 1974 to 1978. Dr. Schofield also served twelve years as a NSHE regent. Jack Lund Schofield passed away on March 13, 2015.
