The Anna Dean Kepper Papers (1903-1924, 1965-1983) contain records, correspondence, photographic slides, research notes, newspaper clippings, and audiovisual tapes, as well as Kepper's research notes, drafts, and transcribed oral history interviews that she used for her thesis on the Fusileers in Ostego County, New York. She was the Curator of the Special Collections and Archives Department in the University of Nevada, Las Vegas Library from 1973 to 1983.
Las Vegas Numismatic Society Records (1963-1974) consist of receipts, membership lists, deposit slips, correspondence, newspaper clippings, photographs, newsletters, and memos. Also included are brochures, newsletters, and postcards from the Sahara Hotel where the Society's first conference was held in 1963. There is a Guide to Personnel and a Service Directory from the Clark County, Nevada School District. Publications from the Nevada Test Site (NTS), Reynolds Electric ad Engineering Company (REECo), and Edgerton, Germeshausen, and Grier, Inc.
The Cynthia Cunningham Papers date from 1970 to 1979 and document Cunningham's career as an English instructor at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV) and as a member of the Nevada State of Board of Education. Included are Equal Rights Amendment (ERA) materials, audio tapes, posters, newspaper clippings, survey results, and reports that explore the issue of gender bias in schools. Materials on the Health Systems Agency contain organization by-laws, memberships, agendas, minutes, correspondence, and publications.
Aaron Williams Papers (1965-1981) consist of scrapbooks, newspaper clippings, scrapbooks, certificates, newspaper clippings, reports, and programs. Many of the clippings and some of the correspondence contain references that give insight into the role of women in North Las Vegas and Clark County, Nevada during the late 1960s and early 1970s. The scrapbooks and newspaper clippings document Williams' career as well as issues he dealt with as councilman and commissioner.
The James Bilbray Papers contain materials dating from 1979 to 2003, with the bulk of material dating from 1983 to 1985 during Bilbray’s service in the Nevada State Senate. It includes correspondence from constituents, correspondence from Bilbray, legislative materials, and fiscal reports presented to the Senate Finance Committee. The collection also contains a small number of reports from the Congressional Research Service.
The Martha C. Knack and Omer C. Stewart Research Papers on the Pyramid Lake Paiute Tribe contains materials collected by Stewart and Knack as research for their 1984 book,
The John Ponticello Papers are comprised of materials related to Ponticello's experiences in Las Vegas, Nevada between 1956 and 1971 with an emphasis on his Research Gambling Game Project, which he conducted and published between 1968 and 1971. The collection includes materials regarding gaming licenses and applications, research agreements, descriptions of the project, and publications about the research project. Also included are materials from Ponticello's experiences in Las Vegas such as business cards, county work cards, and souvenir photographs.
The C. D. Baker Engineering Field Notebooks are comprised of the notebooks and informational texts Charles Duncan "C. D." Baker created and used between 1909 and 1966 while he served as the County Surveyor for Clark County, Nevada and the City Engineer for Las Vegas, Nevada. The field notebooks contain survey coordinates and elevation data for much of early Las Vegas and provide important information on early property boundaries, historical elevations, and lengths of streets from the 1920s to the 1960s. There are also oversized right of way maps for Clark County, Nevada.
The Grace Hayes Papers (1900-1989) include personal papers and financial papers pertaining to the Grace Hayes Lodge (formerly the Red Rooster), a nightclub on the Strip in Las Vegas, Nevada. The collection includes financial documents, newspaper clippings about Hayes and her family, personal correspondence, career mementos, legal documents, and photograph albums.
The Las Vegas City Engineering and Planning Department Reports (1951-1981) consist of urban planning reports, transportation and parking studies, and environmental impact assessments concerning the greater Las Vegas, Nevada metropolitan area. In addition to general issues of urban planning, the collection contains materials relating to the expansion of Interstate 15 through West Las Vegas in the 1970s and early 1980s.
