The Sierra Club Toiyabe Chapter Records (1951 to 2021) are composed of files from Sierra Club officers and environmental activists in the Southern Nevada (formerly Las Vegas) Group of the Toiyabe Chapter. The collection documents the involvement of the Southern Nevada group in a variety of environmental concerns, such as air quality, transportation, urbanization, and nuclear issues, in which the chapter has expressed interest.
The L. F. Manis Papers on Boulder Dam, 1936-1957, contain material and publications relating to Boulder (Hoover) Dam and the Boulder Canyon Project. Included are brochures, pamphlets, postcards, a scrapbook, and newspaper clippings.
The Harvey's Limited Edition Plates Collection (1970-1979) contains four pewter plates that depict four Las Vegas, Nevada historical sites: the Union Pacific Depot; City Hall in 1935; Clark County Courthouse in 1914; and Fourth Street School in 1910.
Ann Brewington Papers (1984-1987) consist of letters and clippings related to Nevada history. Correspondence is primarily from Anne Brewington's sister, Ida Brewington, to Brewington regarding Ida Pittman's death. This collection also contains a letter from Florence Cahlan and copies of letters sent to Cahlan about an article she had written on Ida Brewington Pittman. Also included is another article about Pittman that appeared in the December 2, 1984 Nevadan that has a few hand written notes in the margins, as do a few of the letters.
Navy Mothers' Club, Las Vegas, Nevada Records (1946-1979) contain scrapbooks, photographs, artifacts, by-laws, newspaper clippings, directories, and song books.
The William Thompson Collection on International Gaming dates from 1928 to 2016. The collection materials relate to gaming in the British Isles, Europe, South America, Central America, the Caribbean, and North America. The collection contains travel brochures, memorabilia, research notes for William Thompson’s published works, reports on gaming statistics, and photographs and slides from his research trips. Materials also include Thompson's personal collection of gaming industry specific magazines, law review journals, and books with Thompson's personal annotations.
The John Vergiels Political Papers (1964-1997) contain the professional files from John Vergiels' career as a Nevada State Assemblyman and Senator. The papers cover a broad range of his activities in office, including committee work and dedication to issues such as education, finance, transportation, government affairs, commerce, labor, and care for people with disabilities. Materials include meeting agendas and minutes, bill drafts and summaries, supporting materials for bills and voting issues, and correspondence from individual and organizational constituents.
The Doris Hancock Papers (1895-1987) consist of school memorabilia, correspondence, sketches, two scrapbooks, and material from her involvement in the Las Vegas Art League. Also included are materials about Southern Nevada and surrounding areas, particularly mining towns, Colorado River, Boulder Dam, Red Rock Canyon, early Las Vegas, and Death Valley.
The Gilbert Buck Papers (1930-1986) focus on Buck's work as a surveyor and real estate broker in southern and central Nevada. Included are master reports, designs, standards, flood and drainage reports, and land specifications on water, sewer, and public lands. Papers regarding real estate include reports, housing and mobile home development plans, newsletters, surveys, and Buck Realty negotiations. There are books and information on seminars Gilbert Buck hosted in Las Vegas, Nevada on investing in raw land.
The Sheilagh Brooks Collection on Nevada Historical Sites and Museums dates from 1977 to 1983. It contains materials including budgets, planning proposals, agenda, and minutes related to the Nevada State Museum, including proposals to build a state museum in Southern Nevada. The collection also contains National Register of Historic Places nomination forms for sites throughout Nevada.
