Abstract

The Ralph Roske Papers (1957-1989) consist of Ralph Roske's book manuscripts, lecture notes, and correspondence. The collection includes extensive lecture notes on the United States Civil War, United States history, and Nevada history. It also includes Roske's research and manuscripts on Nevada, California, and the United States Civil War, as well as student

papers. Ralph Roske was a professor of history at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV).

Las Vegas Porcelain Artists Records

Abstract

The Las Vegas Porcelain Artists Records span from 1975 to 1993 and document the history of the Las Vegas, Nevada, non-profit organization that was a division of the World Organization of China Painters (WOCP). The collection includes club by-laws, membership lists, convention pamphlets, promotional materials, correspondence, membership applications, meeting minutes, and financial information. It also includes photo albums, slides, negatives, a cookbook, and other documents.

Elbert Edwards Papers

Abstract

The Elbert Edwards Papers (1869-1988) consist of manuscripts, newspaper clippings, and audio recordings documenting the history of Southern Nevada. The materials were compiled by Las Vegas, Nevada educator Elbert Edwards and contain a heavy emphasis on Mormon history. Other items of interest include biographies of Southern Nevada officials, Boulder City Cemetery genealogical records, and reports from the Clark County School District.

Raymond Hock papers

Abstract

The Raymond Hock Papers (1946-1991) contain a scrapbook of photos (setting traps for radio tagged birds in Alaska, at the Arctic Research Lab at Point Barrow) and programs chronicling the life of the late Dr. Raymond Hock of the Desert Research Institute and University of Nevada, Las Vegas zoology department.

Corbin Harney Nevada Test Site Protest Photograph Albums

Abstract

The Corbin Harney Nevada Test Site Protest Photograph Albums (1995-1997) are comprised of three photograph albums documenting the life and spiritual, environmental, and political activism work of Corbin Harney, elder and spiritual leader of the Newe ("the People") Western Shoshoni Indians. The majority of the photographs are focused on the anti-nuclear protest demonstrations by the Shundahai Network at the Nevada Test Site during the 1990s.

Thomas Clark Professional Papers

Abstract

The Thomas Clark Professional Papers (1950-1998) contain materials from his tenure as a Professor of English at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV), which are divided into two series. The gaming research series includes newspaper clippings, correspondence, brochures, bulletins and articles. Also included are book chapters, a glossary of terms used in the casino industry, and gambling guides. In the linguistics and teaching series there are research files, articles, speeches, correspondence, interviews, multimedia, workshops, and conference materials.

International Food Service Executives Association Records

Abstract

The International Food Service Executive Association (IFSEA) Records contain the organizational records from the IFSEA dating from 1916 to 2010. Included are meeting programs and minutes, menus, conference reports and proceedings, financial reports, newsletters, award certificates, scrapbooks, and stewards and caterers records focusing on the hospitality and food service industry. Materials are from both national and regional branches of the organization and include records from the United States military, with whom IFSEA has partnered with since the 1960s.
