The collection contains papers of Clara M. Crisler dated from about 1875 through 1947. The collection includes newspaper clippings, personal correspondence, and the 1931 yearbook of the Twentieth Century Club in Reno, Nevada.
The Frank Williams Papers on Early Nevada (1892-1946) consists of manuscripts written for the most part by Frank Williams, an early resident of Southern Nevada. The collection includes Williams' autobiography as well as histories of Goodsprings, Potosi Mine, Mesquite Valley, and the Yellow Pine Mining districts. Finally, this collection contains reports and material reflecting Frank Williams' two terms as University Regent (1909-1912 and 1923-1942) at the University of Nevada, Reno, and his four terms in the Nevada State Assembly.
The collection consists of one three-cent United States (U.S.) postage stamp from 1935 featuring Boulder Dam, located on the Arizona-Nevada border.
The Samuel Liddle General Store Records (1885-1887) are comprised of order forms, inventories, and customer ledgers for Liddle's General Store in Leadville, Nevada. The store was created to provide services to residents and prospectors during a mining boom in White Pine County that lasted from 1887 to approximately 1890. The materials also consist of Liddle's General Store accounts, business correspondence, and transactions, such as wholesale purchases of general merchandise and mining supplies from vendors in Eureka, Nevada, San Francisco, California, and smaller nearby locations.
The Maude Frazier Professional Papers (1955-1962) contain programs honoring Frazier, a University of Nevada, Reno commencement program, and a groundbreaking ceremony for the Nevada Southern Second Building. Also included are awards of appreciation and certificates for her dedicated service to the Las Vegas, Nevada community. The materials focus on her later career with the University of Nevada, Las Vegas.
The Requests from Residents and Business Owners to City Officials of Las Vegas, Nevada (1940) consist of formal petitions which were filed with the City of Las Vegas Clerk, and letters to the Mayor and City Commissioners dating from February 1, 1940 to December 4, 1940. The petitions, including one from the Westside Improvement Association, requested infrastructure improvements and zoning restrictions, while others criticized city government actions related to maintenance of public areas and inaction on previous petitions.
The Dorothy Casner Evans Personal Papers consist of a business card from Dave Roberts & Son, undated; Nevada Chauffeur's License for Mrs. D. M. Casner, 1954; and an invoice for items sold to Dave Roberts from Campbell & Kelly, Inc., Dr. Foundry and Machine Works, 1940 June 30.
The Merle Frehner Map of St. Thomas, Nevada (1981) consists of a hand-drawn map by Frehner of St. Thomas, Nevada who lived there from 1914 to 1932. The town was abandoned in 1933 due to the construction of Hoover Dam and is now beneath the waters of Lake Mead. Also included are instructions to the Geography 135 class at University of Nevada, Las Vegas to reproduce the map, which became a student project.
Frank's Cafe Discount Ticket (undated) consists of a coupon for Frank's Cafe, $2.50 for $2.25. The Cafe was located at 122 South First Street, Las Vegas, Nevada. The discount ticket was sold to Jose A. Ramos and signed by F. Rivero.
The Dora Lee Brown Papers (1904-1950) contain correspondence, notes, certificates of awards, report cards, birth announcements, wedding announcements, a sample ballot from 1936, and copies of photographs. The Brown family were American Indians who lived in Pahrump and Las Vegas, Nevada.
