The Bureau of Reclamation Photographs of the Hoover Dam and Boulder City, Nevada depict the construction of the Hoover (Boulder) Dam and the development of Boulder City, Nevada from 1869 to 1974, with a bulk of the materials dating from 1929 to 1940. The photographs primarily depict the construction operations in Black Canyon, including digging tunnels, pouring concrete, building the power plant, and inspections by Bureau of Reclamation engineers. The Raymond Germain Photograph Collection (approximately 1960-1970) consists of two black-and-white photographic prints of Raymond Germain and one black-and-white photographic print of his wife, Mary Germain. All of the photographs have corresponding negatives.

The Nevada Women’s Conference Photograph Collection depicts the statewide women’s conference held in June 1977 in Las Vegas, Nevada. The photographs include keynote speaker Gloria Steinem, event organizers, workshops, volunteers, and musical performances.

The Joseph LaMar Foremaster Photograph Collection includes black-and-white photographic prints and negatives of structures at the Old Ranch (Stewart Ranch) in Las Vegas, Nevada from approximately 1920 to 1939 when the Foremaster family lived and worked on the land.

The Sherwin “Scoop” Garside Photographs contain photographs from journalist and photographer “Scoop” Garside from 1907 to 1969. The photographs primarily depict events and buildings in Southern Nevada, including construction of the Hoover (Boulder) Dam, the Helldorado Parade in Las Vegas, Nevada, hotels and casinos, schools, and social events. The photographs also depict the Garside Family, including Las Vegas Review-Journal owner Frank Garside, “Scoop” Garside’s father.

The Florence DeVinney Krolak Photograph Collection (approximately 1930-1979) contains photographic prints of the Casino Monte Carlo in Monaco, the Boulder (Hoover) Dam with local dignitaries, and Harley E. Harmon and Frank DeVinney (Clark County Assessor). The collection also contains one publicity photograph of Neil Diamond and some images have corresponding negatives. Frank DeVinney was an assessor for Clark County, Nevada.

The University of Nevada, Las Vegas Photograph Collection (approximately 1900-2004) depicts the development of the university and the city of Las Vegas. The collection includes images of campus buildings, student activities, sports teams, past university presidents, and Las Vegas in the early twentieth century. Early images depicting the surrounding area are included in this collection as well.

The Joni Naves-Neal Photograph Collection (approximately 1980-1982) contains two black-and-white photographic prints, one color photographic print, and one photographic negative. Two of the black-and-white photographic prints and the photographic negative are reproductions of an image of three gamblers seated at an overturned table with gaming materials and steins from approximately 1880. The final item is a color photographic print of the Tower Casino sign in Stateline (Primm), Nevada from 1982.

The Alice Kinnear Photograph consists of one photographic print of the students and instructors at Las Vegas High School in Las Vegas, Nevada in 1916. An included document identifies the individuals in the photograph.

The Josephine Johnson Foster Photograph Collection depicts the Manor, Howard, Johnson, and Foster families in Nevada from approximately 1906 to 1946. The photographs depict family members and miners in the towns of Tonopah, Millers, and Goldfield, Nevada. The photographs also include family photographs taken in Oregon.
