The Nevada Banking History Collection (1870-1976), compiled by the First National Bank of Nevada, ontains correspondence, checks, deposit slips and other documents related to early bank operations in Nevada. There are also newspaper articles, published materials and photographs relating to the history of banks in Nevada from 1870 to 1976.
Ann Brewington Papers (1984-1987) consist of letters and clippings related to Nevada history. Correspondence is primarily from Anne Brewington's sister, Ida Brewington, to Brewington regarding Ida Pittman's death. This collection also contains a letter from Florence Cahlan and copies of letters sent to Cahlan about an article she had written on Ida Brewington Pittman. Also included is another article about Pittman that appeared in the December 2, 1984 Nevadan that has a few hand written notes in the margins, as do a few of the letters.
The Las Vegas Rotary Club Records (1981-2022) contain award certificates, club directories and rosters, Las Vegas Rotary publications, commemorative material including a 20-foot by 34-foot velvet curtain. The collection also contains plastic and metal Rotary Club signs from across the United States and international locations, material from a Rotary Club in Africa, and a digital video segment made in 2013 about the history of the Las Vegas Rotary.
The Burt and Wilma Bass photographs and programs mainly document the Bass’ involvement in the Jewish community of Las Vegas, Nevada, as well as their personal and professional lives. Images date from 1976 to 1987 and are entirely digital.
The Valerie Pida Trust Records (1987-1993) are comprised of records documenting efforts by Edward "Ted" Quirk, an attorney and a board member of the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV) Foundation, to establish a trust for Valerie Pida, a UNLV student who had battled Hodgkin's lymphoma since the age of thirteen. Pida was a student at UNLV from 1985 to 1991 and was a cheerleader for the Runnin' Rebels basketball team. The records include correspondence, newspaper clippings, financial statements, and receipts that document the establishment and activities of the foundation, which operated until 1993.
The UNLV Libraries Collection of Sahara Resorts Press Releases and Reports includes annual reports, financial reports, press releases, and promotional materials for the Sahara Resort in Las Vegas, Nevada, dating from 1965 to 2002. This collection was previously cataloged under "Promotional and publicity materials: Sahara Resorts HD999.G25 S25."
The Alice Brown Photograph Collection (approximately 1920-1950) consists of black-and-white and color postcards and photographic prints, with some corresponding negatives and slides. Frasher's Fotos, a Pomona, California business, printed the majority of the postcards that illustrate locations in and around Rhyolite, Nevada and Death Valley, California.
The Aladdin Hotel and Casino Photograph Collection (approximately 1966 to 1979) consists of thirteen black-and-white and color photographic prints. Included are images of architectural renderings, exterior views of the hotel entrance and theater, and interior views of the Aladdin Theatre for the Performing Arts, convention area, dining areas, and guest suites and rooms.
The Byrd Wall Sawyer Photograph Collection contains color photographic slides depicting Byrd Wall Sawyer’s home, the Carson House, in Carson City, Nevada; towns and cities; and landscapes throughout Nevada between approximately 1950 to 1970. Nevada towns and cities primarily depicted include Belmont, Manhattan, Reno, and Dixie. Nevada landscapes include Carson River, Carson Mountains, Olinghouse Canyon, Washoe Lake, King’s Canyon, Lake Winnemucca, Washoe Valley, and Lake Tahoe.
Caesars Palace Photograph Collection (approximately 1965-1989) depicts the famous Caesars Palace Hotel and Casino. The collection consists of twenty-seven images of iconic scenes of Caesars Palace, including its architecture, restaurants, and hotel suites.
