Suzy Broeg Photograph Collection

Abstract

The Suzy Broeg Photograph Collection (approximately 1950-1959) contains six black-and-white photographs depicting Suzy Broeg's parents, Edie and Karl Kraus, with Wilbur and Toni Clark in the Kraus home located at 2020 W. Charleston Boulevard in Las Vegas, Nevada. Three of the photographs show Wilbur and Toni Clark, Monique de Montigue (?), and various friends and family members at the home of Karl and Edie Kraus. There are also three souvenir dinner photographs taken at various casinos showing Karl and Edie Kraus with friends.

Lee Plotkin with Alan Stock radio interview

Abstract

Radio interview with Lee Plotkin and Alan Stock on KXNT-AM 840 radio on August 27, 2002. This interview was collected by Dennis McBride as part of the Las Vegas Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, and Transgender Oral History Project. The interview took place over the radio on KXNT-AM 840. Plotkin and Stock discuss Question 2 with the radio host, and take phone calls from listeners both for and against the ballot measure.

Karin Sporn oral history interview

Abstract

Oral history interview with Karin Sporn conducted by Claytee D. White on May 25, 2023 for the Southern Nevada Jewish Heritage Project. Karin Sporn grew up in Germany when her father was a member of Hitler's army. As a young woman, she converted to Judaism, and she shares how it was a difficult path. Much of her study and sacred rituals were done in Israel, and she shares that many signs along the way gave her encouragement, and she learned from others around her in Israel who shared their stories with Sporn. Eventually, her travel business brought her to Las Vegas, Nevada.

Abstract

Oral history interview with Allycia B. Murphy conducted by Stefani Evans on June 30, 2023 for Reflections: the Las Vegas Asian American and Pacific Islander Oral History Project. In this interview, attorney Allycia B. Murphy shares how she learned recently who her biological father was and how it has changed her life. She talks about connecting with half-siblings, her biological father, and learning about her father's Samoan, Japanese, and German family history.

Joshua Langdon oral history interview

Abstract

Oral history interview with Joshua Langdon conducted by Stefani Evans on June 23, 2023 for Reflections: the Las Vegas Asian American and Pacific Islander Oral History Project. In this interview, Langdon begins by speaking about his parents' history, and his family's frequent relocation due to his father's enlistment in the United States Air Force. Born in Colorado, Langdon moved to Germany as a young child, and then to Nellis Air Force Base in Las Vegas, Nevada where he spent the rest of his youth.

Abstract

The Jean Decock Papers (1965-1992) consist of Nevada Dance Theatre programs, programs from international dance companies, and newspaper clippings related to Nevada Dance Theatre and the University of Nevada, Las Vegas department of dance.

William Mors Audiovisual Collection

Abstract

The William Mors Audiovisual Collection (approximately 1989-2001) contains material created by William Mors Productions and the Las Vegas History Foundation. Subjects include Hoover Dam, entertainment in Las Vegas, Liberace, and the history of Las Vegas. The collection consists of vhs tapes, U-Matic tapes, betamax, and other formats and are originals, masters, edited masters, clips, and final production tapes.

Gay Fiction Book Collection

Abstract

The Gay Fiction Book Collection (1951-1976) is a small collection of fiction books published from the 1950s, 1960s, and 1970s that have gay men as the lead characters or storylines that relate to the gay community. The majority of the books were published in San Francisco, California and were collected and donated by Dennis McBride.
