Abstract

The Charles Aplin Photograph Collection (approximately 1935-1955) consists of black-and-white photographic prints and negatives. The images primarily depict the Fraternal Order of Eagles, Las Vegas, Nevada chapter events and members. Also included are images of Las Vegas, Helldorado parades, and Conrad H. Mann, former president of the Fraternal Order of Eagles.

UNLV Libraries Collection of Grace Nusser Photographs

Abstract

The UNLV Libraries Collection of Grace Nusser Photographs (approximately 1970-1980) contains black-and-white images from the Las Vegas Review-Journal depicting Boulder City, Nevada ranger Jack Weiler being interviewed after the arrest of Grace Nusser from 1937. Additional images include pictures used for Las Vegas Review-Journal article clippings pertaining to the crime and arrest. The photographs are reproductions of original images created between 1937 April 29 and 1937 May 24.

Charles Vanda Photograph Collection

Abstract

The Charles Vanda Photograph Collection, approximately 1960 to 1988, contains black-and-white and color photographic prints with some corresponding negatives of Charles Vanda with colleagues and friends from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV). The images depict Vanda at UNLV sporting events, graduation ceremonies, and other campus events. Also included are some images from fellow musicians, entertainers, and producers associated with Vanda.

Morrison Family Photograph Collection

Abstract

The Morrison Family Photograph Collection (1917-1933) consists of black-and-white and color photographic prints, negatives, and slides. The images primarily depict the Morrison family in Las Vegas, Nevada and the surrounding areas. Images portray youth activities in Nevada, including a local Boy Scouts Troop, Las Vegas High School students, Clark County High School students, as well as student activities at the University of Nevada, Reno.

Ernest Mitchell Pratt Photographs

Abstract

The Ernest Mitchell Pratt Photographs (approximately 1932-1936) consist of black-and-white photographic prints, signed and unsigned, taken by Pratt while Hoover Dam was under construction. Many prints are signed and mounted, and two are noted as award-winning photographs shown at the Annual International Salon of Camera Pictorialists in Los Angeles, California. There are additional working prints included alongside the final prints for most of the scenes. Also included in the collection is one small photograph of Pratt.
