From the UNLV Libraries Single Item Accession Photograph Collection (PH-00171). Pictured is the first LDS (Mormon) chapel in Las Vegas. Construction was begun in 1924 & completed in 1925. The chapel was located on the northwest corner of 6th & Carson streets. It is presently located on Eastern near Washington (in L.V.) at which place this photo was taken.

From the UNLV Libraries Single Item Accession Photograph Collection (PH-00171). Canoe on Colorado River before the Hoover Dam was built. Seated in canoe L-R are: "Snooks", Ed Schroeder, Art Schroeder, Mrs. Wright (mining Engineer?), Wright's son. Mr. Wright and his family lived on the Colorado River.

From the UNLV Libraries Single Item Accession Photograph Collection (PH-00171). Fremstad (now 88 years old as of 1987) was a sailor from the age of 14. He was employed during WWII in New York Harbor. After the war, toured the west & settled at Willow Beach. Ed Schroeder was formerly a school teacher in Wisconsin. Gave up his career For health reasons. Died in June 1973.

From the UNLV Libraries Single Item Accession Photograph Collection (PH-00171). Art Schroeder was a metallurgist at Titanium Metal, dealt with The development of titanium. He was a consultant. For info on Ed see 0171-0292. The Schroeders finally had to abandon their camp at Willow Beach when the Parks Dept. chased them out in 1957-8.
