Sign owner: Stations Casino Company
Sign details: This location opened in 1991 and is considered a locals casino. They have a similar train station theme to a few of the other Stations Casino properties used to have. This location also holds a movie theater.
Sign condition: 5- still in very good condition and lights up very brightly at night still
Sign form: Pylon, Porte cochere and semi-decorated shed
Sign-specific description: The main pylon sign has a two white steel bases with a reader board on the bottom, a plasma t.v. screen on top of the reader board and the main portion of the sign with their logo above. Their main logo is a green train front with a yellow neon trim with curved maroon ovals on it stating "Boulder Station" and "Hotel-Casino" underneath it in channeled white letters that contain flashing incandescent. The porte cochere sign above their valet is in a rainbow shape stating "Boulder Station" in sparkling incandescent. With red letters underneath stating "Hotel" in red neon. Also on the main hotel tower there are the same "Boulder Station" letters in incandescent lights outlined in red neon as well. Also the word "Casino" is also in incandescent lights on the side of the building. There are also LED lights that are chasing outlining the whole building making a semi-decorated shed look.

Sign - date of installation: Has been up since at least 2007
Sign - thematic influences: Their train theme is portrayed well in their pylon sign. Also the train theme could be considered an homage to early Vegas history as a railroad stop.
Sign - artistic significance: The pylon sign is very similar to the Fiesta Rancho sign which is also a station casino with the reader board and plasma screen. This sign is almost identical in design to the old Palace Station sign.

Starts with a KVBC Channel 3 opening followed by "A Chorus Line" advertisement, and gold watch advertisement. Next segment starts with a packaged opening for KVBC Channel 3, a news story on the proposed national gas tax, a story on the secret Area 10 military base near Tonopah, Nevada, a woman who was hit by a street light, followed by more commercials by Nevada Savings, the Holiday Casino's gaming, entertainment, and buffet offers. The next segment starts with an economic study story. Anchor Gwen Castaldi introduces a story on Vegas World, Stupak and the new show "Outrageous Vegas," which was performed in a room used during the day as the casino's race and sports book. The commercial set following includes pieces on the Inperial Palace Auto Show, a spot for the Associated Podiatry Group, and a Chevron credit card commercial. The sports segment features stories on football coach John Robinson leaving USC, boxing in Las Vegas, the UNLV Running Rebels featuring Sidney Green, the NFL, Steve Garvey, a construction update on Cashman Field, skiing report, and a fishing report. Commercials in the next segment feature ads by the Las Vegas Sun, Stanwell Mortgage, and Fairway Chevrolet. The weather segment is followed by commercials by Royal Transmission, and the Las Vegas Hilton presents the Moulin Rouge du Paris production show. The show continues with a travel segment featuring b-roll from McCarran International Airport before ending. The tape continues with more news segments and a replay of the earlier show including the Stupak interview. Different segments and commercials include, Follies Bregere at the Tropicana, Gordon's Jewlers, Mineral Bank, news segments, American Denture Service, the announcement of the "Las Vegas Stars" as the new name for the AAA baseball team, NBA coverage, Las Vegas Dodge, Vons, Tom Jones at Caesars Palace, Nevada State Bank, and La Mesa RV. The tape continues with News 13 newscast. Stories include the shooting of Metro officer James McClarren and the preliminary hearing of his alleged shooter, 15-year-old Hector Vento, various other court cases, a story on rent increases at Bonanza Village, coverage of COMDEX Computer Convention, a story in the Gaurdian Angles security group pulling back services on the Las Vegas Strip, and a story on a cheating ring centered around Vegas World. The segment discusses Vegas World cooperation, security upgrades including cameras and video recorders, Metro's anti-cheating detail headed by Sgt. Dennis Caputo, and various cheating scams. The sports segment features a story on the UNLV Rebels football team and sophomore quarterback Randall Cunningham. Jane Greenspun Gale-actor, activist, writer, magazine publisher, philanthropist, and farmer- has filled her life with accomplishments such as the Animal Foundation and Springs Preserve. It has also been a life filled with adventure - from “looking for John Lennon” during her time living and studying acting in London to learning to raise chickens on the acres of the Gilcrease Farm she owns with husband and photographer Jeff Gale. Everyone calls her Janie. Born Jane in 1949, she is the third of four children born to community leaders Barbara and Hank Greenspun. In this oral history, Janie captures the fun of growing up in Las Vegas under the watching eye of Hank. As a teen she and her friends cruised Fremont Street. Several years later she wanted to be arrested protesting the Atomic Test Site, when Hank diverted her into reporting about the event instead. Her Jewish foundation was at Temple Beth Sholom, where her parents were among the founding members. As the Jewish population grew, the tastes in synagogues grew to reflect the change. When Janie’s children preferred the Reform approach at Congregation Ner Tamid, a new family tradition began. She is proud of her background and shares loving stories of time spent with her grandparents as a child and pride in the heroic and dramatic story behind the naming of Hank Greenspun Plaza in Israel. Even her love story with Jeff is a tale made for movies. It unfolds in this engaging oral history interview along with anecdotes that are plucked from her personal history and preserve a reflection of growing up in Las Vegas, one of the Greenspun family of local fame.
