Abstract

Oral history interviews with Frances Montes conducted by Barbara Agonia on October 25, 2001, November 02, 2001, December 28, 2001, and August 24, 2002 for the Women's Research Institute of Nevada (WRIN) Las Vegas Women Oral History Project. Montes begins her interviews by describing growing up in a Latinx community in San Antonio, Texas in the 1940s. She discusses the rich culture of her community as well as her experiences with racism.

Florence McClure oral history interviews

Oral history interviews with Florence McClure conducted by Joanne Goodwin on January 24, 1996 and February 06, 1996 for the Women's Research Institute of Nevada (WRIN) Las Vegas Women Oral History Project. McClure begins her interviews by discussing her family experiences growing up during the Great Depression. McClure then describes her early career working for the Illinios Department of Public Welfare, her travels around the country with her husband, and eventual settling in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Betty Krolak oral history interviews

Oral history interviews with Betty (Elizabeth) Krolak conducted by Irene Rostine on November 25, 1995 and September 23, 1996 for the Women's Research Institute of Nevada (WRIN) Las Vegas Women Oral History Project. In this interview Krolak discusses moving to Las Vegas, Nevada in April of 1962 with her husband and six children. Krolak then discusses her unexpected entry into the real estate business and her experiences in the industry.

Della Mae Rostine oral history interview

Abstract

Oral history interview with Della Mae Rostine conducted by Irene Rostine on October 31, 1991 for the Women's Research Institute of Nevada (WRIN) Las Vegas Women Oral History Project. Rostine opens her interview discussing working at the Basic Magnesium, Inc. Plant in Henderson, Nevada. She then goes on to discuss conditions of working at the plant and rationing of food and other products during World War II. Rostine describes her family being one of the first to establish the Henderson community after the end of World War II.

Bernice Jaeger oral history interviews

Oral history interviews with Bernice Jaeger conducted by Joanne L. Goodwin on July 25, 1997, July 30, 1997 and February 03, 1998 for the Women's Research Institute of Nevada (WRIN) Las Vegas Women Oral History Project. Jaeger begins the interviews by discussing her introduction to the hotel industry while attending Clark County Community College in the 1970s. Jaeger discusses working at the Rivera Hotel and Casino, Aladdin Hotel and Casino, and Continental Hotel and Casino, her experiences at these properties, and the important people associated with them.

Trudell begins by discussing her early life, her parents, and attending boarding school. Trudell goes on to discuss her father's political activism and her grandparents' impact on her life. Trudell then describes her adult life in St. Petersburg, Florida with her husband and young children and their move to Las Vegas, Nevada in 1962.
