Abstract

The University of Nevada, Las Vegas Phi Kappa Phi Records (approximately 1960-2019) consist of meeting minutes, correspondence, financial documents, member lists, programs, newspaper clippings, and photographic prints pertaining to the Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi Chapter 100 at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV). The collection also includes memorabilia from the organization's fiftieth induction ceremony, as well as a framed copy of its charter.

The Consolidated Students of the University of Nevada, Las Vegas Records are primarily comprised of meeting minutes, agendas, publications, funding and planning documents, and memoranda created by the Consolidated Students of the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (CSUN) from 1965 to 2019. CSUN is the undergraduate student government of the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. The records include information about how CSUN operates on a daily basis as well as the type of activities CSUN sponsors.

Barrick Lecture Series Records

Abstract

The Barrick Lecture Series Records consist of audio recordings of lectures given by distinguished guests from approximately 1980 to 2011 as part of the Barrick Lecture Series at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. Some of the guests included former U.S. Presidents Gerald Ford and Jimmy Carter, as well as politicians such as Henry Kissinger and Bill Bradley. Other notable guests included astronomer Carl Sagan, journalist Cokie Roberts, political satirist Mark Russell, and former Pakistan Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto.

Abstract

Records are comprised of the UNLV Office of the Vice President for Academic Affairs records from 1952 to 2017. The collection contains information about UNLV's academic affairs including information about the development and growth of departments, as well as what type of classes were offered. The collection also includes faculty schedule cards from 1955 to 1978.

The papers are comprised of the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV) professor Barbara Cloud's records dating from 1983 to 2008 and the Communications Studies Department "University Focus" radio program audio tapes. The collection includes early documents from when UNLV was established as the southern regional extension of the University of Nevada, and later Nevada Southern University.

The essays were compiled for a work called, "A History of the Mathematical Sciences Department."
