Description
On March 7, 1981, Elisabeth McLaren interviewed blackjack dealer, Roger H. Dudley (born August 10th, 1940 in Las Vegas, Nevada) in his home. This interview covers Roger’s recollections on growing up in Las Vegas. During the interview they further discuss Roger’s childhood, his parents, grade school, World War II, the atomic testing, the Mesquite Club, the development of the Strip, rodeos, Howard Hughes, Paradise Valley and changes in Las Vegas, Nevada.

The Northeast regional subject files include materials about Native American communities and gaming in Connecticut, Delaware, Kentucky, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Virginia, and West Virginia, dating from approximately 1974 to 2009. The materials include socioeconomic and annual reports; Federal Register entries; court opinions; testimony transcripts and letters from the National Gambling Impact Study Commission (NGISC); journal articles; photographs from research trips; book reviews; notes; casino profiles; informational packets and booklets; promotional materials; memos; and newspaper articles. The Northeast subseries focuses primarily on the Native American casino gaming enterprises of the Mashantucket Pequot Indian Tribe and the Mohegan Tribe of Indians.

The collection also includes memorabilia from the organization's fiftieth induction ceremony, as well as a framed copy of its charter.

Abstract
The Hal Belfer Papers chronicle the professional career of producer, choreographer, and writer Harold (Hal) Belfer (1935-2004) and consist of general materials regarding his work in Hollywood, California and Las Vegas, Nevada. One of the scrapbooks contains photographs of famous personalities from his early work in movies and theater. Also included are newspaper clippings, scripts, sheet music, arrangements, and photocopies of "Fabulous Las Vegas" and "Ken's Spotlight on Las Vegas," where Belfer had made notations.

The Harvard Project on American Indian Economic Development (HPAIED) files document the HPAIED’s efforts to research the socioeconomic impacts of Native American gaming from 1990 to 2010, with the bulk of materials dating from 2000 to 2005. The materials in this subseries document Dr. Spilde’s research while working for the HPAIED, offering valuable insight into the administration of the organization. The subseries includes materials collected by Dr. Spilde about HPAIED, the ᏣᎳᎩᎯ ᎠᏰᎵ (Cherokee Nation), the Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma, and the Mvskoke (Muscogee [Creek] Nation). Also included are socioeconomic reports, NIGA reports, site visit reports, notes, HPAIED studies, essays, “Honoring Nations” HPAIED awards program materials, Harvard University promotional materials, research proposals, Oklahoma Indian Gaming Association materials, census data, bibliographies, informational booklets and packets, conference materials, and newspaper articles.
