Fine, Jonathan

Jonathan Fine is a Las Vegas, Nevada native and entrepreneur. In 2003 he founded Sting Alarm Inc., a security company that focused on aiding the hospitality industry in the transition from analog to digital surveillance. With his partners in Fine Entertainment, Fine manages several bars and restaurants on and off the Strip, including Rockhouse Bar at Grand Canal Shoppes, PBR Rockbar and Grill at Miracle Mile Shops, Chayo Mexican Kitchen + Tequila Bar at The Linq, and PKWY Tavern.

Sparer, Jon

Jon Sparer is an architect in Las Vegas, Nevada who has worked on numerous hotels and casinos. He moved to Las Vegas in July 1981 and worked for the architecture firm Rissman and Rissman before joining Marnell Corrao. After briefly retiring in 1999, Sparer opened his own architecture firm and was contacted by Congregation Ner Tamid (of which he was a casual member) to design their new temple in Green Valley. He was also the architect for the Gay and Lesbian Community Center of Southern Nevada (“The Center”) in Las Vegas.

Hillel Jewish Student Center at UNLV

Hillel at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV) was founded in 1976 by Roberta Sabbath. Jewish Federation director Jerry Countess encouraged Sabbath to start a Hillel group and provided funding of $3,000 for the first year. Hillel is a national organization that engages Jewish students on university campuses and encourages them to stay involved in Judaism. It provides activities, a way for Jewish students to network, and an on-campus Jewish community. Hillel's programming includes social and holiday events, educational speakers, and Shabbat services and dinners.

Hunsberger, Charles W., 1929-

Charles Hunsberger was born in 1929 in Elkhart County, Indiana. Hunsberger was the director of the Las Vegas-Clark County Library District from 1972 to 1994. He is credited with expanding library facilities and services across Las Vegas, NV and Southern Nevada during the late 1980s and early 1990s. He was responsible for building more than twenty libraries in Southern Nevada; including securing a $22.2 million library bond in 1985 which resulted in the Green Valley, Las Vegas, Spring Valley, Sunrise, and West Las Vegas libraries.
