The George Kelly Ryan papers (1921-1971) contain correspondence inquiring about Octavius Decatur "O. D." Gass, newspaper clippings from 1929, handwritten recollections of the Gold Ranch by Laura Royce, and a San Pedro, Los Angeles and Salt Lake Railroad Company information, including information on wash-outs in Nevada.
Nevada politician and women's advocate Imogene "Jean" Young was born in Miami, Oklahoma, on December 28, 1929, to Daisy Adelphia (Flook) and Clarence Nathan Young. She had one brother, Byron Young. Her family moved to Joplin, Missouri, where she attended kindergarten through high school. In 1951 she graduated from Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas with a B.A. in Sociology. After graduation she worked as a recreational therapist for the American Red Cross in military hospitals until 1955.
This photograph has three images. The first one (0272_0081) is upside-down and reads, "Record pour. Graveyard crew on No. 7 cableway. 240 8 cu. buckets. 8 hour shift, Boulder Dam. 12-18-34" There is a list on the back: "1. high-line operator 2. Bell boys hi-trussel and on dam. Andy 3. Donkey operators 4. Hook tenders 5. shifter, of crew (Colette) 6. Night Supt. Car Colette 7. Regular crew 8. Me. Returned to help crew for this record from form-raising crew. "All worked on No. 7 line in some capacity, except 8. Kizziar (KI-ZAH) -as a regular. Lots of work that day. Didn't take time for lunch. Run over to grab a bite and jump back. My job was to trip the safety (dog). Bucket was in the pour every two minutes. Just time to wade out of knee deep mud. On top trussel everything was panic. Bellboy sets an empty bucket in crib of flat car (which has three cribs). Hook tender unhooks it and donkey driver will back up to hook on full bucket. Bellboy signals hi-ball -- operator knows how far to take it." The other two images (0272_0082 and 0272_0083) did not have an inscription with the image.
The Gue Gim Wah Papers (approximately 1940-1985) consist primarily of incoming correspondence (largely written in Chinese) to Gue Gim Wah at the Prince Mine in Pioche, Nevada. Also included are Wah's naturalization certificate, a map of the Prince Mine Bunkhouse, brochure of the Lincoln County Civic Association, and a small amount of photographs including a black-and-white photograph of Gue Gim circa 1940s.

The Thomas Clark Professional Papers (1950-1998) contain materials from his tenure as a Professor of English at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV), which are divided into two series. The gaming research series includes newspaper clippings, correspondence, brochures, bulletins and articles. Also included are book chapters, a glossary of terms used in the casino industry, and gambling guides. In the linguistics and teaching series there are research files, articles, speeches, correspondence, interviews, multimedia, workshops, and conference materials. Also included are files on graffiti, symbolism, ethnic and regional speech differences, language usage, and National Council of Teachers of English (NCTE) material. Additional materials include colleague publications and cassette tapes of interviews from students in courses Clark taught at UNLV.
The History of Nursing in Southern Nevada Oral History Project Records (1965-2014) are comprised of material related to a volunteer project initiative at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas School of Nursing to conduct oral history interviews with nurses who have practiced in Southern Nevada. The collection contains subject files related to the project, as well as audio, video, and transcript files for the interviews. The collection also includes general information on nursing in Southern Nevada such as research papers and documents from the Nevada Nurses Association.
The K. O. Knudson Photographs (approximately 1920-1969) depict the Las Vegas Grammar School and service, fraternal, and veterans organizations gathered by retired Las Vegas, Nevada school administrator and World War I veteran K. O. Knudson (also known as K. Oscar Knudson). The collection includes images of Knudson, Las Vegas Masonic Lodge members, American Legion members, and school dances. The photographs primarily feature Las Vegas, Nevada.
