Oral history interview with Ron Smith conducted by Claytee D. White on May 10, 2022 for the African Americans in Las Vegas: A Collaborative Oral History Project. In this interview, Ron Smith discusses his early life in Queens, New York and his Catholic school education. Smith served as a Red Cross volunteer at the hospital where his mother worked, and after one year at St. Johns University he volunteered for the Air Force to avoid being drafted by the Army. Soon after basic training and being trained as an aircraft mechanic, Ron Smith volunteered to go to Vietnam. Later, Smith talks about his experience owning seventeen McDonald's restaurants throughout Las Vegas, Nevada and future plans to construct a mall and residential complex on Boulder Highway in partnership with the City of Henderson.
The Arden Station series (1904-1976) consists of materials that detail the operations of the Arden, Nevada train depot between 1907 and 1917, the Union Pacific Railroad, and operations ledgers for the San Pedro, Los Angeles, and Salt Lake Railroad.

Bell, a native of Amargosa Valley, Nevada, first took an EMS course at Battle Mountain in 1987. He completed paramedic training in Winnemucca and Carson City in 1995. He became commander of the Battle Mountain ambulance service in 2012.

Carlson graduated from Queens University Medical School in Kingston, Ontario in 1974. He established a practice in Fallon, Nevada in 1977. In the 1980s, Carlson pushed for advanced ER training for physicians in Nevada and ER services in rural hospitals.

In 1990 Heidemann joined the Lovelock Volunteer Fire Department. He currently works at the Hawthorne Army Depot, Hawthorne Fire Department, and works as a Chief Training Officer and EMS Coordinator. He is also an instructor for the State Fire Marshall.
