The George Stewart Personal Papers (1914-2014) are comprised of military records and personal papers of George Stewart, a fifty-year Las Vegas, Nevada resident. The collection includes information about the Clark County Republican Party, Stewart's service in the United States Army Air Corps, and documents and photographs from Stewart's childhood in the Boy Scouts of America during the 1930s and 1940s. The collection also contains a personal scrapbook containing photographs, fliers, and memorabilia from his early education and military training. Stewart also collected menus and keychains from local Las Vegas, Nevada country clubs and casinos.
The George Knox Roth Collection (1959-1980) consists of newspaper clippings (including photocopies), magazine articles, newsletters, technical reports and publications, correspondence, notes, and photographs relating to the Atomic Energy Commission, the environmental impact of nuclear testing in Nevada, Nevada mining, Airwest and the Hughes Airport, and other aspects of Howard Hughes’ Nevada operations. The George Knox Roth Collection also includes correspondence and expense reports related to his own company, General Research Consultants.
The George E. Franklin Sr. Papers consist primarily of two original manuscripts by George E. Franklin (1890-1971), an English-born writer and former Las Vegas resident. Franklin published From Cotswolds to High Sierras (Caldwell, Idaho: Caxton Printers, 1966) and The Fallacy of Appeasment (New York: Carlton Press, 1968). The collection also includes an undated newspaper article announcing Franklin's donation of the manuscripts to Nevada Southern University (now the University of Nevada, Las Vegas.)
