Description

The front of a poster for the mock trial "The People Vs. Abraham" put on by Temple Beth Sholom in Las Vegas, Nevada. The advertising text reads: "Temple Beth Sholom proudly presents "The People Vs. Abraham." One time only. Sunday, March 21st. Opens at 9am. Tickets call 702-804-1333. Be there as masterful attorneys Oscar Goodman and Michael Cherry go before hard nosed Judge Joseph Wapner. A trial with roots at the foundation of Jewish heritage. Hear extraordinary details of passionate father nearly sacrificing his son. Then you, the jury, cast the deciding vote." The signatures of Michael Cherry, Oscar Goodman, and Joseph Wapner are included on the poster as well.

Red robe with tiger and leopard motifs on the sleeves, tied with a gold tasseled rope belt, baggy red trousers knotted at the ankles; dark blue robe with a black panther motif on the left sleeve and side, tied with a gold tasseled rope belt, with black trousers and boots.

Scope and Contents

The Caddo Company, Incorporated series (1922-1965) is comprised of twelve sub-series containing film production and corporate records.

The first two sub-series contain materials related to two films that predate the formation of The Caddo Company, Incorporated as a production company, Swell Hogan (1926) and Everybody's Acting (1926), financed by Howard Hughes. The remaining sub-series represent the nine films produced under the Caddo banner and general corporate records.

Materials within each film sub-series include advertising and publicity, administrative, censorship, distribution, editing, financial, legal, and production and direction records, as well as film soundtracks and screenplays. Types of materials include of ledgers, correspondence, storyboard images, sheet music, and original scores, as well as film, direction, set, and production stills. Corporate records consist of newspaper clippings, administrative correspondence, actor and distribution contracts, and financial reports.

Abstract

The Marion Brooks Photograph Collection (approximately 1983-1989) contains one black-and-white photographic negative depicting Brooks with his family and associates, as well as three black-and-white photographic negatives of the Blue Diamond Mine in Clark County, Nevada. These negatives are reproductions of originals loaned to UNLV University Libraries Special Collection and Archives in 1983.

Wynn Las Vegas Scrapbook

Abstract

The collection consists of one scrapbook (2008) of postcards and photographs tracing the history of the Las Vegas property upon which the Wynn Las Vegas resort was built and four magazines featuring articles about Las Vegas (1940, 1947, 1955, and 1959). The scrapbook begins with several pages of historic postcards of the hotel originally built on the property, the Desert Inn, and continues with the establishment of the Wynn and the vision of its associated resort, the Encore. While the images primarily focus on the Desert Inn and the Wynn, there are also several pages of images of various other Las Vegas Strip properties accompanied by a brief timeline. The scrapbook contains approximately 76 images, dating from 1950 to 2008.
