Lowe then describes her family moving to Las Vegas, Nevada in the 1940s. Oral history interview with Emory Lockette Sr. conducted by Dennis McBride on March 17, 1996 for the Boulder City Library Oral History Project. In the interview, Lockette discusses his work as a draftsman, civil engineer, and hydraulics engineer for the Bureau of Reclamation. He then describes his working conditions at the Bureau of Reclamation and administrative-level conflicts.

In this interview, Emory discusses his education in architectural and structural engineering. Lockette begins by talking about studying at Albany State College in Albany, Georgia, moving around the United States due to her husband's military service, and finally settling in Boulder City, Nevada in 1953.

Oral history interview with Jesse Scott conducted by Claytee D. White on June 29, 2009 for the Boyer Early Las Vegas Oral History Project. In this interview, Scott describes growing up in Louisiana and his initial involvement with the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) as vice president of the youth council. He recalls positions he held beginning in the 1970s with the Las Vegas NAACP branch as an executive director, executive director of the Equal Rights Commission, and later, president of the Las Vegas NAACP.
