Oral history interview with Jerry Jackson conducted by Su Kim Chung on February 12, 2015 for the Boyer Early Las Vegas Oral History Project. In this interview, Jackson discusses his career as a dancer, choreographer, costume designer, and producer of shows in Las Vegas, Nevada and around the world. Jackson describes dancing at the Desert Inn, Moulin Rouge, Tropicana, and touring with production shows. He then recalls living in Las Vegas from the 1950s through the 1970s and compares the quality of show production throughout the years.

Oral history interview with Carl Williams conducted by Claytee D. White and Kelli Luchs on April 20, 2010 for the Boyer Early Las Vegas Oral History Project. In this interview, Williams discusses attending the Westside School starting in 1949. He recalls the teachers, staff, and describes the buildings as he remembers them. Lastly, Williams discusses activities held at the Westside School, community activities at the time, and his involvement with various churches.

Oral history interview with Bernadine Schneider conducted by an unknown interviewer on an unknown date in 2006 for the Boyer Early Las Vegas Oral History Project. Schneider opens her interview by discussing her childhood in Iowa. She talks about growing up with an abusive, alcoholic father, and how that affected her family and her own development. Schneider then explains that her mother sent her to church, which she credits with ultimately saving and improving her live.

Oral history interview with Joey Trujillo conducted by David G. Schwartz on October 08, 2008 for the Remembering Jay Sarno Oral History Project. In this interview, Trujillo discusses his personal experience with Jay Sarno as his barber at Caesars Palace Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada. He recalls gambling with Sarno and tells anecdotes of their friendship. Lastly, Trujillo discusses the death of Sarno in 1984.

Oral history interview with Jay Sarno Jr. conducted by David G. Schwartz on March 25, 2008 for the Remembering Jay Sarno Oral History Project. In this interview, Sarno Jr. discusses his personal history growing up in Atlanta, Georgia and eventually moving to Las Vegas, Nevada in 1965. Sarno Jr. describes his father, Jay Sarno, opening Caesars Palace Hotel and Casino and Circus Circus Hotel and Casino. He recalls what it was like to live with his father and becoming involved with his businesses. Lastly, Sarno Jr.

Oral history interview with Jay C. Sarno Jr. conducted by David G. Schwartz on July 10, 2008 for the Remembering Jay Sarno Oral History Project. Sarno begins by discussing how his parents met in the early 1950s in Miami, Florida and were married within six weeks. Sarno then describes his family moving to Las Vegas, Nevada in 1965 and living in the Dunes Hotel for the first three weeks. Sarno then chronicles his parents’ marriage and their divorce in the 1970s.

Oral history interview with Paul Sarno conducted by David G. Schwartz on July 13, 2007 for the Remembering Jay Sarno Oral History Project. Sarno begins by discussing the Sarno family, his grandparents, their Jewish heritage, and the early life of his uncle, Jay Sarno, and his father. Sarno then describes how his uncle married a lot later than his older siblings and he was the only one who had personal hobbies such as golf. Sarno then chronicles his uncle’s role as a businessman in Las Vegas, Nevada and how he only visited Las Vegas once because his father was a gambling addict.

Oral history interview with Larry Ruvo conducted by David G. Schwartz on January 27, 2009 for the Remembering Jay Sarno Oral History Project. Ruvo begins by discussing his position as a front desk clerk at Caesar’s Palace in Las Vegas, Nevada in the 1970s. Ruvo then describes how Jay Sarno changed the casino industry by designing Caesar’s Palace with a single theme. Ruvo then chronicles how gaming gradually was legalized in more areas throughout the world and how Sarno capitalized on making Caesar’s Palace an iconic casino which made people want to travel to Las Vegas.
