The Political Advocacy series (1969-1998) provides documentation of Florence McClure’s work as a political advocate for women’s issues in Las Vegas, Nevada as well as at the state and national level. Included is her testimony before the U.S. Senate and summaries of her activities in the Nevada State Legislature regarding women’s issues.

Carmen discusses her personal history growing up in Barranquilla, Colombia and her professional aspirations in her present work; she is the founder of the Colombian Association of Nevada, a former member of the Professional Latina Women organization in Las Vegas, and has worked with Senator Harry Reid as a representative of the Colombian community related to voting rights and access.
