From the Nye County, Nevada Photograph Collection (PH-00221) -- Series VI. Tonopah, Nevada -- Subseries VI.C. Hooper Family. Albert Hooper, who later married Mayme, is standing near the center wearing a hat. On the far left is Albert Hicks, Hooper’s cousin, standing next to Hooper. The rest of the relatives are unidentified.

Description

From the Nye County, Nevada Photograph Collection (PH-00221) -- Series VI. Tonopah, Nevada -- Subseries VI.D. Terrell Family. High-grade gold ore was found just below the top of the hill and a shaft was sunk. Note the windlass hoist, cranked by hand, and the pipe going down to the shaft to draw air into the hole for ventilation.

Abstract

The Denny Lynch Photograph Collection (approximately 1900-1990) contains photographic prints and negatives of the Lynch family and their homes in Pahrump Valley and near Blue Diamond, Nevada. The photographs also depict locations and people throughout Nevada, primarily in Pahrump and Amargosa with a focus between approximately 1970 and 1990. Other photographs include local, state, and federal politicians in Nevada and Washington, D.C. Most of these photographs were collected by Denny Lynch for his newspaper, the Pahrump Tribune.

Archival Collection

Jackson, Blanch, 1884-1973

Born on January 22, 1884, Blanch Jackson was the daughter of Edward F. Frailey and Mrs. Frailey. Frailey was the superintendent of waterworks in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. In April 1904, Blanch married prominent mining industry figure Clyde Jackson in Lancaster. They moved to Tonopah, Nevada after the wedding. Blanch passed away on January 25, 1973.
