Magda Nissanov and her family were sent to Auschwitz-Birkenau from Hungary in 1944. She and her sister were later sent to a work camp in Bavaria, and eventually Dachau, where they were liberated in 1945/

Description

Diamondfield, located 5 miles northeast of Goldfield, was settled in mid-February, 1904 as a result of the Goldfield strikes. It was founded by Diamondfield Jack" Davis, a reputed gunslinger from Idaho, who discovered gold at the site in 1903. The town soon supported a post office, saloons, a school, a church, and general merchandise stores. It reached its peak population of around 400 in 1907 and its mines shipped ore on a small scale through the 1930s."

Treaty Pillar at Valley of Fire. Handwritten note on back of card: "Note: Treaty PIllar is in the center of the photo, Las Vegas wash at bottom left. To the rear and off to the right is Callville. The Mormons shipped goods upriver to Callville. The Mormons made a treaty with the Paiutes; the pillar marks the spot where the treaty was made. It is now underwater. From Callville the trail was overland to Salt Lake City - W.A. Davis, photog., 4-92."
