Alpha Epsilon Pi

Alpha Epsilon Pi is a Jewish fraternity established in 1913 to provide a Jewish social and cultural organization for Jewish men, but is also "non-discriminatory and open to all who are willing to espouse its purpose and values." A Nu Sigma chapter of Alpha Epsilon Pi at University of Nevada, Las Vegas was chartered in 1968. Sheldon Adelson is an honorary member of the fraternity, and Michael Cherry was a member and two-time president of the chapter at the University of Missouri.

Rosencrantz, Lynn Leshgold, 1949-

Lynn Rosencrantz was born September 15, 1949 in Portland, Oregon, and spent her childhood there as a member of a vibrant Jewish community. In 1973, Rosencrantz married Arne Rosencrantz and relocated to Las Vegas, Nevada to join her husband. He was working at Garrett’s Furniture, a company they would later own together. Her first job in the city was teaching hearing impaired students at Ruby Thomas Elementary School.

Brooks, Hershel, 1930-

Hershel Brooks was born December 3, 1930 in Brooklyn, New York. He was raised in an orthodox Jewish household, along with his four siblings, and attended Jewish community schools before pursuing his rabbinical studies. He studied at TelsheYeshiva in Cleveland, Torah Vodaath in New York, and Jewish Theological Seminary in New York.
