Doris Welt (1927- ) is a retired travel agent and a member of the Las Vegas, Nevada Jewish community. Born Doris Fox in Detroit, Michigan, she married Eli Welt in 1945 and moved to Las Vegas in 1971. Her father, Joseph "Jerry" Fox, moved to the city in the 1940s, where he bought Stoney’s, the oldest existing pawnshop at the time. Doris and Eli also became involved in the pawn shop business, and Eli was active in the local Jewish community, particularly with B’nai Brith and the Jewish Family Service Agency. Doris and Eli Welt had three children, Gerald, Richard, and Susan.
