Abstract
Oral history interview with Ida Webb conducted by Claytee D. White on February 29, 1996 for the African Americans in Las Vegas: a Collaborative Oral History Project. In this interview, Webb discusses her childhood in the American South. She discusses her family's move from Tallulah, Louisiana to McNary, Arizona, and then their migration to Las Vegas, Nevada. Webb shares her experiences as a young African American mother in Las Vegas in the 1940s and the things her and her husband did to provide for their family. She shares her views on her marriage and her views on African American culture of the time. Webb discusses her husband's civic involvement and his job at the Las Vegas Sun. She details her experiences working in the hospitality industry for such early casinos as the El Rancho Hotel & Casino, The Flamingo Hotel & Casino, and the Last Frontier Hotel & Casino. She shares her own civic involvements and her participation in the Culinary Workers Union Local 226.

The Stephn P. Grogan papers is comprised of Grogan's personal papers (approximately 1960 to 2020) that primarily document his career working in the gaming industry in Colorado and Las Vegas, Nevada. The collection documents Grogan's involvement with Vegas Pacific business partnership, Skilleo Games, Action Gaming, and EWM Investments. The collection also includes papers documenting Grogan's business ventures in Colorado as well as his writing career. Included in this collection are drafts of Grogan's novels and plays.

The Stephen Nasser Papers (1992-2018) mainly contain letters written from school children to Nasser who travels to schools, churches, and organizations around Las Vegas, Nevada to share his story of surviving the Holocaust during World War II. Materials in this collection document his captivity in various prison camps and includes photographs, awards, and newspaper clippings. Also included are speeches given by Nasser and book reviews and a teacher's guide of his book My Brother's Voice written by students of Dixie College, St. George, Utah. The collection is comprised of professional communication, memoranda, newspaper clippings, membership cards, and manuals from 1930 to 1984 that belonged to Las Vegas, Nevada police officer, Joseph T. LaVoie. The collection contains material about LaVoie's police work, his involvement with various labor organizations, and his work with childrens groups such as the Friends of Youth. The material about LaVoie's work as a police officer dates from 1946 to 1966, when the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department was known as the City of Las Vegas Police Department.
