The Antonio Morelli Papers include materials spanning from the 1910s to the 1970s that chronicle the professional and private life of longtime Sands Hotel and Casino orchestra conductor and musical director, Antonio Morelli and his wife Helen. The collection includes snapshots from Morelli's early life, three scrapbooks, one box of sound recording tapes, and a box of slides from Thailand. The collection also documents Morelli’s efforts to provide classical music concerts for the Las Vegas, Nevada community and his involvement with the Guardian Angel Church on the Las Vegas Strip.
The Colorado River Commission of Nevada Reference Library Collection (1922-2000) documents the history of the Colorado River Commission (CRC) and is predominately comprised of books, briefs, memoranda, motions, exhibits, and other documents pertaining to the Arizona v. California litigation occurring between 1931 and 2000. The collection also contains meeting minutes, correspondence, budgets, reports, and other work files relating to the CRC. The CRC, located in Las Vegas, Nevada, is responsible for managing and protecting Nevada’s Colorado River water and power resources.
The Spencer and Georgia Butterfield Papers (1890s-1978) consist primarily of photographs and scrapbooks pertaining to Spencer and Georgia Butterfield, a prominent Las Vegas, Nevada couple involved in local business and civic activities. The collection also includes newspaper clippings of their social activities, correspondence, and assorted personal memorabilia.
The Historic American Buildings Survey of Kiel Ranch Photograph Collection contains 45 black-and-white photographs of the buildings on Kiel Ranch from 1988. The buildings documented by the collection are the park mansion, the adobe structure, an old house, the foreman's house, a shed referred to as the "Doll House," a brown house, a cinderblock house, a wooden duplex, and a livestock shed.
The Ferron and Bracken Photograph Collection depicts Southern and Central Nevada and other western states from 1890 to 1961. The photographs primarily depict the development and growth of early Las Vegas, Nevada; mines and mining operations in Southern and Central Nevada; towns and mines in Nevada; and the Hoover (Boulder) Dam and the Colorado River.
The Las Vegas High School architectural drawings include blueprints for various improvements, expansions, additions, and renovations performed for the Las Vegas, Nevada high school between 1929 and 1972. The architectural drawing sets include site plans, floor plans, elevations, sections, building component details, and structural drawings.
The Von Tobel Family Papers (1905-1997) consist of photographs, correspondence, and financial reports pertaining to the early Las Vegas Von Tobel family and their businesses, which they operated in Las Vegas, Nevada. The collection also contains newspaper clippings covering the life of Edward Von Tobel Sr. and some of the operational business records of the Von Tobel Hardware Store No. 301.
The UNLV University Libraries Collection on Techatticup Mine (1914-1923) is comprised of administrative and financial records associated with the Techatticup Mine, located in Clark County, Nevada south of Nelson, Nevada. The administrative documents include business reports, prospectuses, and assays. Administrative documents also include foreman reports, insurance records, warehouse inventories, correspondence, and notes relating to equipment, food, employment, and taxes. Financial records include account balances, payroll, purchasing records, statements, bills, receipts, and company vouchers.
