From the Syphus-Bunker Papers (MS-00169). The folder contains an original handwritten letter and a typed transcription of the same letter, and a copy of the original letter. Letter does not state May's last name but she seems to be the brother of John M. Bunker.
The Strutt Hurley Collection on the Southern Nevada Pride Association, Inc. (SNAPI) and Las Vegas Pride (1989-2000) contains materials collected and produced by Strutt Hurley during her tenure as Director of Entertainment of SNAPI. Materials include meeting minutes, advertising contracts, Las Vegas Pride programs, and ephemera collected from Pride celebrations in Las Vegas, Nevada and other parts of the United States and the world.
Records are comprised of memoranda, committee minutes, and planning documents from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV) Women's Studies Department from 1966 to 1993. The records document the inception of both the Women's Center and Women's Studies program at UNLV. The materials from the Women's Center document the efforts of UNLV staff to begin a women's center on campus and efforts to create a Women's Studies program.
The Farnsworth Collection on Housing in Clark County, Nevada is comprised of Clark County housing development brochures gathered by Las Vegas real estate appraiser Robert Lee Farnsworth Sr., dating from approximately 1950 to 1989. The collection includes housing developments located in Boulder City, Las Vegas, North Las Vegas, Pahrump, Lake Mead, Henderson, Summerlin, and Downtown Las Vegas. Brochures include price lists, appraisals, and descriptions of various housing developments and communities in Southern Nevada.
From the Nye County, Nevada Photograph Collection (PH-00221) -- Series V. Smoky Valley, Nevada and Round Mountain, Nevada -- Subseries V.A. Carver, Carver-Duhme, and Carver-Book Families (Smoky Valley). The Belmont courthouse is visible in the distance in the center of the photo. Building with tin roof located on the right was occupied by Rose Walters during the 1940s. The building was once the office of a mining company located in Belmont, and in 1985 was purchased by Nye County Commissioner Robert "Bobby" Revert from John Richardson, who had intended to make a museum out of the building. Revert remodeled the building and now uses it as a residence.
