The UNLV Libraries Collection of Nevada Newspapers (approximately 1865-1999) consists of newspapers collected by UNLV Special Collections because of their relation to local, University, or general Nevada history. Newspaper titles with more than 5 issues were separated out from this material and individually cataloged.

Southern Nevada Daughters of the American Revolution Records

Abstract

The Southern Nevada Daughters of the American Revolution Records primarily document the activities of three Southern Nevada chapters of the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution from 1950 to 2024. The materials center around the records of three chapters from Southern Nevada: Old Spanish Trail, Francisco Garces, and Valley of Fire. Materials include administrative records, scrapbooks, photographs, news clippings, and correspondence about the activities of the Daughters of the American Revolution chapters. Mateirals also include some records and scrapbooks from the Nevada State Society of DAR.

The Dorothy Ray Photograph Collection on Southern Nevada, approximately 1900-1946, depicts infrastructure in Caliente, Nevada in the early to mid-twentieth century. The collection also contains images of a flash flood that occurred in 1905 in Carp, Nevada and Stine, Nevada that washed away roads and railroad tracks. This collection provides historical documentation about early to mid-century Caliente, Nevada.

Materials include four volumes of Academic Committee meeting minutes and nine volumes of Academic Council meeting minutes, agendas, correspondence, and announcements dealing with course schedules, tenure and promotions, budgets, and other administrative topics.
