Description
Myoung-ja Lee Kwon began her life on the grounds of the Kyongbok Palace in Korea. In a country where education is valued, her father's occupation as a university professor meant that the family was highly honored, thus this palatial space allowed them live in a state of prosperity. But war changed these circumstances and in this interview Kwon vividly explains the family's evolution. In 1965, after graduation from Seoul National University she married and a year later, moved to the United State of America where she earned a Master's degree in Library Science in Provo, Utah. Her first professional position was at the University of Nevada Las Vegas as a cataloguer and after many promotions, became interim dean of UNLV Libraries. In 2001, she took the job as Dean of Libraries at California State East Bay Library, retiring in 2008. Sign details: This location was originally constructed in 1957. Opened as Ringside Liquors by Eddie Trascher. Trascher sold the property to Rinaldo Dean "Dino" Bartolomucci in 1962. Bartolomucci Renamed it "Dino's". Bartolomucci sold cars in california, moved to Las Vegas in the 1950's. "Dino's" is now owned by his granddaughter Kristin Bartolo.
Sign condition: 4 out of 5, it still lights up brightly at night and has bright paint colors.
Sign form: Pylon as well as signage on the building.
Sign-specific description: Sign on building green cover filtered neon, with a script style design for the name. Road pylon contains skeletal neon with red and white design also stating their name "Dino's" in the same font as the sign on the building. This pylon has a white base that extends out of the main red rectangle portion of the sign. Also below their logo is a back lit plastic sign.

Sign - thematic influences: This sign shows 50's/60's trend with the base of the sign extending out of the main worded portion of the sign. That trend is very common among many other signs across the valley from the same era.

Survey - research notes: This location is .35 acres and was constructed 1957. The Dino's website contains an archive of images of their bar and owners from the last 50 years, and some of the images show older photos of their sign.

Sign details: Original construction year of the building was 1949. Previous to this property being Evel pie it house the short lived F. Pigalle fondue restaurant, and the Radio City Pizza. This 1979 Evel Knievel themed pizza restaurant and bar opened in late 2016. Their motto is Live Hard, Ride Fast, Eat Pizza. In the restaurant there is an Evel Knievel Pinball machine and a Stunt Cycle Game.

Sign-specific description: Above the entrance there are red channeled cursive letters Evel Pie filled with neon tubes that illuminate red at night. To the left and right of the letters there are little white wings that are plastic but are illuminated with neon tubes I behind it.

Sign - artistic significance: The logo is the same font as Evel Knievels old advertisements. This font this was a close representation of his signature but more of a bubble font cursive letters rather than the flat signature that would have been done with a pen/pencil. Also the wings on the sign represent the theme since he was known for jumping such long distances that they said he would fly.

John Wittwer Collection on Agriculture in Nevada

Abstract
The John Wittwer Collection on Agriculture in Nevada (1898-1972) contains the professional papers and records of John Wittwer in his capacity as an Agricultural Extension agent for the University of Nevada from 1921 to 1954. The records are primarily annual reports containing text, photographs, newspaper clippings, and charts that provide a rich chronicle of the conditions of agriculture and ranching in southern Nevada from 1898 to 1972, with the bulk of the material dating from 1929 to 1955. These conditions span water issues, such as flood control and irrigation, to the general difficulties of sustaining agriculture and viable food production in a desert environment. The reports come from the Agricultural Experiment Stations in Clark and Lincoln counties and most contain both a statistical report and a narrative summary.

Gary Guy Wilson Architectural Drawings

Abstract
The collection is comprised of drawings (1965-1996) completed by American architect Gary Guy Wilson and/or his architectural firm, Gary Guy Wilson, AIA, Architect Studios and contains 613 sets of drawings from over 250 different projects. Primarily focused on the Las Vegas, Nevada area, the materials feature hand-drawn architectural drawings, ranging from preliminary sketches to construction documents, and a number of printed computer aided drawings. The drawings also contain work from a number of consultants, engineers, and other architects who collaborated on the development of the various projects. The drawings include: commercial and professional buildings of varying scales, such as convenience stores, hotels, casinos, shopping centers, and office developments; schools; military buildings at both Nellis and Indian Springs Air Force Bases; multi-family residential developments; and custom single-family homes located throughout the Southwest (United States).

On March 4, 1976, Gordon Brusso interviewed former miner, Joe Lappin (born November 14th, 1914 in Santa Paula, California) about his life in Boulder City, Nevada. The two discuss his early occupational history and his work for the Bureau of Mines. He then goes on to explain the different housing systems that developed in Boulder City during World War Two.
