Hilda Bush was born in 1907 in Chernigov, Ukraine, Russia. Her family immigrated to the United States and settled in Bakersfield, California. She completed her elementary school training coursework through the Mennonite Church of America Board of Education in September 1925. Hilda and Charles Aplin married in 1927.
Elton Dale Scheideman was born on April 19, 1933 in Ellis, Kansas. He attended the University of Kansas School of Architecture in the 1950s, where he entered a number of student competitions. In 1958, Scheideman entered the United States Air Force and retired in 1988 as a colonel. He later worked for a private architectural firm in St. Louis, Missouri, but moved to Southern Nevada in January 1991 to work as an architect and the Director of New School and Facility Planning for the Clark County School District.
Iona McWilliams was married to J. T. McWilliams, an early settler to the Las Vegas, Nevada area. Iona Ida McWilliams was born in 1876, in Grand Rapids, Michigan. She was sent to school to learn to be a school teacher in Philadelphia. She later developed a lung ailment and her doctor suggested moving to Needles, California as a form of treatment. Iona met J. T. McWilliams in Needles and the two married in 1897. In 1898, she had a daughter that the couple named Emily Eleanor, often called Nellie. Iona McWilliams died in May of 1969 at age 92.
Cynthia Kiser Murphey was the President and Chief Operating Officer (COO) at the New York-New York Hotel and Casino until May 2020. She worked at the New York-New York for twelve years, first joining the company in Human Resources for the Mirage, then moving to the MGM Grand when it opened 1992 as Senior Vice President of Human Resources. She started the MGM Resort Corporate University program as well as the onsite childcare program while at MGM Resorts.
