2014-12-18

Description

From the Dennis McBride Photograph Collection (PH-00263) -- LGBTQ+ events and organizations in Las Vegas, Nevada -- Digital images file. Notes from the donor, Dennis McBride: Sasha's was a queer bar and restaurant [2002-2003] which stood at 4640 South Paradise Road named for manager/female impersonator Josh Ryan who performed as Sasha Scarlet. After Sasha's closed, owner D. L. Washburn donated photos of the bar to the University of Nevada, Las Vegas Special Collections Department [photograph collection no. 00412], and the bar's signature stained glass window to the Nevada State Museum, Las Vegas. Ralph Avendano, the museum's Maintenance Worker IV, built a wood frame to hold the window.
