Geographic Location
Drawings or works in another medium, often made by an engineer, that indicate the location of utilities, including water supply lines, fire hydrants, sewage disposal lines, and other utilities typically located in the road right-of-way. As part of the construction process, these plans are generally required for submission to local authorities such as public works departments, public health boards, fire departments, pollution control regulators, etc.
Material Type
Sections that are set apart from, but adjacent to, a main view of the structure or object through which the section is taken.
Material Type
Orthographic drawings that show a structure as partly an exterior elevation and partly an interior elevation. If only a small portion of exterior is taken away, use "broken-out sections." For smaller, symmetrical objects shown as half exterior and half interior, use "half sections."
Material Type
Plans that are viewed from above, but laid out as if they were projected downward onto the back of an upper surface, such as a ceiling. In such a plan all members seen on the left from below appear on the right in the plan. The term also refers to plans for ceilings depicted as if reflected in a mirror on the floor, within the context of the floor plan, with the goal of illustrating how the ceiling design or configuration relates to the floor plan.
