Margaret “Peggy” Casey was born in Louisville, Kentucky where her father was the city editor of the local newspaper. Peggy attended college at the University of Wisconsin during World War II. After graduating, she worked for an aeronautical company, Curtiss-Wright, where she helped build planes for the war.

The general subject files include materials collected by anthropologist Katherine Spilde about Native Americans, Native American gaming, and gaming in the United States. The materials date from 1789, 1793, 1823 to 1832, 1851, 1883, 1886, 1903, 1909, and 1971 to 2014, with the bulk of materials dating from 1990 to 2005. Materials dating from the eighteenth, nineteenth, and early-twentieth centuries are reproductions of United States Supreme Court opinions. Dr. Spilde collected materials about economics, gaming, the regulation of gaming, law, the National Congress of American Indians (NCAI), the National Indian Gaming Commission (NIGC), sociocultural topics, and socioeconomic topics. Materials include socioeconomic reports, testimonies, congressional records, correspondence, memos, press releases, audiovisual materials, periodicals, conference materials, pamphlets, packets, booklets, notes, journal articles, legal briefs, legislative documents, court opinions, notes, and newspaper articles. Abstract
The University of Nevada, Las Vegas Division of Educational Outreach Records (1971-2019) contain correspondence, planning information, promotional materials, photographs, and newspaper clippings about the history of the division and commemorative events such as the 25th and 40th anniversaries. The majority of the collection materials are comprised of course catalogs, directories, student journals, member handbooks, scrapbooks, and council meeting minutes for the division's lifelong learning programs for nontraditional students: the Extended Education Center for Lifelong Learning (EXCELL) and the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (OLLI). Materials also include digital files of jazz performances from OLLI's Jazz Appreciation class, a video interview about OLLI, and recording of an OLLI panel featuring World War II veterans.

The Phil Carlino Papers (1967-2016) document Carlino's involvement in Nevada politics and business. The collection centers around Carlino’s time as State Chairman of the Nevada State Democratic Party. His wife and business partner, Florence Carlino, is mentioned throughout the collection. She was involved in numerous local organizations and was a supporter of the Democratic Party.
