Description

Aftermath of the Goldfield Fire of July 6, 1923. The fire destroyed approximately 25 blocks of Goldfield's Main Street after starting early that morning, and two lives were lost. Remnants of buildings and exposed brick lots are visible, while some buildings stand in the background. Arrow-shaped sign near the debris reads "Garage." Included with the photograph is the description "Times-Bonanza, Tonopah."

Description

From the Nye County, Nevada Photograph Collection (PH-00221) -- Series VII. Other areas in Nye County -- Subseries VII.C. Fallini Family (Twin Springs, Nevada). Rore is an employee of the Bureau of Land Management at Battle Mountain. The Fallinis lost over 600 heads of cattle that year. Rore is operating a radio set up in Helen Fallini’s living room.
