Jones talks about his upbringing in Pontypridd, Wales, listening to American Black blues and gospel that influenced his style, singing in any venue he could sing in, from church to school to dancehalls and clubs, being 'discovered' by Gordon Mills in 1964, and getting his first hit with "It's Not Unusual" the following year.
