    345 RESIGNATION OF Commissioner Baskin moved that the resignation of A. G. Blad, Municipal Judge, effective MUNICIPAL JUDGE January 1, 1949 be accepted. Further that Judge Blad be given a vote of thanks for cooper­ation and service. Motion seconded by Commissioner Whipple and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Baskin, Clark, Moore, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. APPOINTMENT OF Commissioner Clark moved that Walter J. Richards be appointed Municipal Judge to fill the MUNICIPAL JUDGE unexpired term of A. G. Blad, effective January 1, 1949. Motion seconded by Commissioner Baskin and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Baskin, Clark, Moore, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. REVERSION TO STANDARD Commissioner Clark moved that Daylight Savings Time in the City of Las Vegas be abandoned and that the City revert to Pacific Standard Time on and after 1:00 A. M. Daylight Savings Time, January 1, 1949. Motion seconded by Commissioner Baskin and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Baskin, Clark, Moore, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. There being no further business to come before the meeting at this time Commissioner Baskin moved that this meeting adjourn until January 7, 1949 at the hour of 2:00 P.M. Motion seconded by Commissioner Whipple and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Baskin, Clark, Moore, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. ATTEST: APPROVED: City Clerk Mayor Las Vegas, Nevada January 7, 1949 A regular meeting of the Board of City Commissioners held this 7th day of January, 1949 was called to order at the hour of 3:15 P.M. by His Honor Mayor E. W. Cragin with the following members present: Commissioners Baskin, Clark, Moore, Whipple; City Manager J. M. Murphy, City Attorney C. Norman Cornwall, and City Clerk Shirley Ballinger. Commissioner Clark moved that the minutes of December 22 and 29, 1948 be approved by re­ference and the Mayor and City Clerk authorized to sign same. Motion seconded by Commissioner Whipple and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Baskin, Clark, Moore, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. SERVICE & MATERIAL Commissioner Clark moved that Service & Material Warrants Nos. 1729 and 1743 to 1748 inclu- WARRANTS sive in the net sum of $22,163.92 be approved and the Mayor and City Clerk authorized to sign same. Motion seconded by Commissioner Baskin and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Baskin, Clark, Moore, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. PAYROLL WARRANTS Commissioner Clark moved that Payroll Warrants Nos. 1726 and 1731 to 1741 inclusive in the net sum of $28,870.50 be approved and the Mayor and City Clerk authorized to sign same. Motion seconded by Commissioner Baskin and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Baskin, Clark, Moore, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. PLUMBING BOARD Commissioner Clark moved that the following reappointments to the Plumbing Board for 1949 Appointed be approved; H. L. Chambers - Master M. H. Stewart - Journeyman Joe P. Davis - Master Wm. Patterson - Journeyman B. W. Snider - Master T. J. Glen - Journeyman Motion seconded by Commissioner Baskin and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Baskin, Clark, Moore, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. ACTING CITY MANAGER Commissioner Clark moved that Howard Geer, City Engineer be authorized to act as City Manager APPOINTED in the absence of J. M. Murphy, City Manager. Motion seconded by Commissioner Whipple and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Baskin, Clark, Moore, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. CITY AUDITING At this time bids were received from the following accounting firms for the auditing of City finances for the year 1949. Clifford G. Chester, Las Vegas, Nevada George H. Wood, Pasadena, California Conway, Moe & Co., Las Vegas, Nevada A. W. Blackman, Las Vegas, Nevada Commissioner Clark moved that the offer of George H. Wood, Pasadena, California be accepted. Motion seconded by Commissioner Whipple and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Clark, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; Commissioners Baskin and Moore voting no.
