Change of Operator Commissioner Jarrett moved the following gaming applications for change of operator for 1st Quarter 1954 he approved: DESERT SNACK BAR C. R. Millhizer 1600 So Main 4 slots Motion seconded by Commissioner Sharp and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Bunker, Jarrett, Sharp, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. LIQUOR APPLICATIONS Commissioner Bunker moved the following liquor applications for the 1st Qtr. 1954 he 1st Qtr. 1954 approved in the same form and conditions as in previous quarter: Renewals DAIRY BAR Chester S. Biele 1525 Fremont Rest Bev. MONTE CARLO COFFEE SHOP Gail W. Sponseller 1600 So Main Rest Bev. Motion seconded by Commissioner Jarrett and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Bunker, Jarrett, Sharp, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. Las Vegas Dist. Co. Commissioner Sharp moved the liquor application of Las Vegas Distributing Co., J. E. Masek & Wm. Cosulas, 230 W Colorado for Wholesale Liquor & Importers Beverage be approved in the same form and condition as in previous quarter. Motion seconded by Commissioner Bunker and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Bunker, Jarrett, Sharp, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. DELINQUENT LICENSES Commissioner Bunker moved to instruct the Clerk to give the Police Department a list of business's who have not obtained their licenses by the due date and to instruct the Police Department to close their doors and not let them operate. Motion seconded by Commissioner Jarrett and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Bunker, Jarrett, Sharp, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. ANDY S LIQUOR STORE Liquor Application Renewal Commissioner Sharp moved the liquor application of Andy's Liquor Store, Andrew L. Bruner, 1320 D Street, for Retail Liquor Miniature, be approved for the 1st Quarter 1954 in the same form and condition as in previous quarter. Motion seconded by Commissioner Jarrett and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Bunker, Jarrett, Sharp and His Honor voting aye; noes, Commissioner Whipple. LIQUOR APPLICATIONS 1st Qtr. 1954 Changes Commissioner Bunker moved the following liquor application for 1st Qtr. 1954 he approved: VEGAS BEVERAGE CO. INC. T. H. Underhill 424 No Main Whse & Impr. Beverage (Formerly called Coca Cola Bottling Co) Motion seconded by Commissioner Sharp and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Bunker, Jarrett, Sharp, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. Commissioner Whipple moved the following liquor application for 1st Qtr. 1954 he approved: LITTLE KITCHEN Kay Bell 1608 Fremont Rest. Bev. Motion seconded by Commissioner Bunker and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Bunker, Jarrett, Sharp, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. At the hour of 11:30 P.M. the meeting recessed. The meeting reconvened at the hour of 11:45 P.M. with all members present as of the opening session. LIQUOR APPLICATIONS Commissioner Whipple moved the application for a Tavern liquor license of James Tatum 1st Qtr. 1954 and W. Robertson, Chick-A-Dee, 1314 F Street be approved subject to a favorable report New from the Police Department. Motion seconded by Commissioner Jarrett and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Bunker, Jarrett, Sharp, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. Bonanza Bar Commissioner Whipple moved the application of Ray Salmon to convert a package store into a tavern at the Bonanza Bar, .416 West Bonanza be approved. Motion seconded by Commissioner Jarrett and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Bunker, Jarrett, Sharp, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. Atomic Liquor Store Commissioner Sharp moved the application of Jack and Virginia Barrett for a Retail Liquor Miniature at the Atomic Liquor Store, 917 Fremont be approved subject to a favorable report from the Police Department. Motion seconded by Commissioner Jarrett and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Bunker, Jarrett, Sharp, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. SECOND WITHDRAWN Bonanza Bar Commissioner Jarrett withdrew his second on the motion to grant a tavern license to Bonanza Bar stating that he writes the fire insurance for Mr. Salmon. The Motion was then seconded by Commissioner Bunker and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Bunker, Sharp, Whipple and H s Honor voting aye; noes, Commissioner Jarrett. Strip Liquor Store Commissioner Sharp moved the application of James E. Reid and Blaine Beckwith for a Retail Liquor Miniature license at Strip Liquor Store, 2141 South 5th Street be approved. Motion seconded by Commissioner Jarrett and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Bunker, Jarrett, Sharp, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. Jim's Liquor Store Commissioner Whipple moved the application of James Lee Snowden for a Retail Liquor License at Jim's Liquor Store, 1312 F Street be approved subject to a lease and compliance with the building code. Motion seconded by Commissioner Sharp and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Bunker, Jarrett, Sharp, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. Charleston Liquor Store Commissioner Bunker moved the application of E. J. Gilbreath for a Retail Liquor Miniature License at Charleston Liquor Store 9 West Charleston Be approved. Motion seconded by Commissioner Whipple and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Bunker, Jarrett, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, Commissioner Sharp. 1-20-54
