The Administration Series of the Planned Parenthood of Southern Nevada (PPSN) from 1984 through 1995 consists of four Sub-Series. The General Administration Sub-Series contains material related to the internal administration and structure of the organization, mainly reports, strategic plans, and statistics. The Grants and Fund-raising Sub-Series was left in the order it was received. It contains materials pertaining to fund-raising activities such as fund-raising guides, ideas, and resources. Materials relating to direct mail activities were also included in this Sub-Series as part of fund-raising efforts. There are several folders of sample direct mail materials from Planned Parenthood organizations throughout the country as well as from other organizations and several local mailing lists that were used to develop PPSN's mailing database. There is a large volume of material pertaining to grants available to PPSN. The Staff and Speakers Sub-Series includes materials about community involvement in PPSN programs by clergy and volunteer speakers. Staff training and evaluation materials are also included in this Sub-Series.
Archival Component
The aviation, aerospace and defense industries series contains reference files of newspaper clippings dating from 1946-1976.. The primary focus is on the Hughes Aircraft Company, in terms of the development of aviation, radar, avionics, missiles, space and communications, innovations, and the expansion of company operations. There are also a number of files that relate to the Hughes Tool Company and Howard Hughes Medical Institute, the general development of civilian and military aviation, aerospace, weapons systems, and defense issues.
Archival Component
Materials include conference brochures, schedules, presentations, and summaries related to gambling, horse racing, and casinos from 1976 to 2006 collected by Eugene Martin Christiansen. The materials are primarily comprised of brochures, information packets, copies of presentations by Christiansen and other speakers, travel arrangements, registration information, and invitations.
