Records in this series are comprised of administrative and research files documenting the formation of Nevada CURE as an organization and the creation of the Spartacus Project Report from approximately 1998 to 2001. Materials include correspondence between Mercedes Maharis and various individuals, such as attorneys in Nevada representing inmates on legal cases, as well as organizations, such as the Nevada Department of Prisons. Records in this series also includes copies of inmate medical records and copies of the Spartacus Project Report. This series also includes copies of the Las Vegas Tribune which contain specific articles about issues related to the Nevada prison system.

Black and white image of Secretary of the Interior, Dr. Ray Lyman Wilbur, on a tour of inspection at Hoover Dam. It was under Dr. Wilbur's supervision that the Boulder Canyon Project was commenced. In the background the concrete form used in lining the 50-foot diversion tunnels at the outlet portal of Diversion Tunnel No. 2 can be seen. Note: Boulder Dam was officially renamed Hoover Dam in 1947.
Looking northwest towards the Las Vegas Strip, the cul-de-sac terminating Horseshoe Rock Court as seen from above on Epic View Court in Ascaya, a luxury home development carved into the McCullough Mountain range in Henderson, Nevada. The project's infrastructure was built completely with materials mined on site and all major improvements were installed prior to beginning sales.
