The Binion’s Horseshoe Club Photograph Collection dates between approximately 1940 to 1985 and contains black-and-white and color photographic prints and negatives depicting Benny Binion’s family, friends, and Binion’s Horseshoe Club, also known as Binion’s Hotel and Casino, Binion's Horseshoe, and Binion's Gambling Hall. Photographs of Binion’s family and friends show them posed at Binion’s casino property, Binion Ranch, and events including rodeos and the Helldorado parade. Binion’s Horseshoe photographs include views of street scenes and billboard advertisements featuring Binion’s Horseshoe, the Million Dollar Display, quarter horse sales, World Series of Poker events, Binion’s Horseshoe stagecoach, and celebrities visiting the property.
The Chip Johnson Collection of Hoover Dam Photographs (approximately 1930-1936) consist of sixteen black-and-white photographs that depict the construction of Hoover Dam and the surrounding area. The photographs were taken by an unknown photographer.
The Pearl Francis Neeley Photograph Collection (approximately 2000-2024) consists of digital reproductions of Francis and Neeley family photographs taken from approximately 1890 to 1945 throughout Central and Southern Nevada. Notable locations include Pioche, Eagle Valley, Spring Valley, and Las Vegas, Nevada. Also included in the collection is a digital reproduction of an autobiographical typescript by Neeley titled “My Life History,” and a multipart audio recording of Neeley recollecting her experiences growing up in rural Nevada and other events in her life. This collection consists entirely of digital surrogates.
The D. L. Washburn Photograph Collection on Sasha's Nightclub and Restaurant is comprised of primarily candid photographs of patrons and entertainers such as musicians, female impersonators, and male strippers at Sasha's Nightclub in Las Vegas, Nevada from approximately 2001 to 2003. The collection includes photographs of Sasha Scarlett with patrons and entertainers at the nightclub. The majority of individuals in this collection are unidentified.
The Fedora Bontempi Simpkin Photograph Collection (1970-1983) consists of black-and-white and color photographic prints depicting Clark County, Nevada Mother's Day Celebrations and mother of the year award ceremonies. Pictured honorees include Grace Hayes, Frances Liberace, and Joyce Straus. Other images include Fedora Bontempi Simpkin with Nevada Senator Howard W. Cannon and Nevada Governor Richard Bryan.
The Barbara and John Kizziar Photograph Collection primarily contains black-and-white photographic prints and negatives of Hoover Dam (Boulder Dam) construction during John Kizziar’s time working for Six Companies Inc. between approximately 1986 and 1992. These images are reproductions of originals taken from between approximately 1930 and 1945. They detail John Kizziar’s work life during the dam’s construction, as well as events and scenes associated with the dam. Other images portray billboards and streets in Boulder City, Nevada. The collection also depicts other locations in Nevada, including Las Vegas, Mount Charleston, Black Canyon, the northern Mojave Desert, and the Colorado River ferry crossing between Nevada and Arizona.
