This finding aid contains the photographic negatives and contact sheets produced by the University of Nevada, Las Vegas from 1970 to 1979 as an official record of the institution's development, activities, and community. Clients include UNLV colleges and departments, the University's administration, the UNLV Foundation, athletic departments, and the Nevada System of Higher Education (NSHE). Images include academic activities, athletic events, faculty and administration, student life, campus life, campus development, architecture, and public relations.

The Don Ashbaugh Papers (1950-1960) document Las Vegas history, Nevada history, and ghost towns. The collection is comprised of the working manuscript of Don Ashbaugh's book, Nevada's Turbulent Yesterday: A Study in Ghost Towns. The collection also contains typescript drafts, newspaper clippings, and a geographical index of Nevada ghost towns.

The Pueblo Grande de Nevada Photograph Collection (approximately 1920-1980) contains black-and-white photographic prints, negatives, and slides depicting archaeological sites located in Overton, Moapa, Valley of Fire, Red Rock, Pyramid Lake, Kane Springs, Virgin River, the “Lost City,” and Lake Mead, Nevada. Images display the different stages of digging during the archaeological excavation of Pueblo Grande de Nevada. Also included are images showcasing artifacts uncovered during the excavations, the Saint Thomas, Nevada and the flooding of archaeological sites after the construction of the Hoover (Boulder) Dam.
