Frank Benham co-owned a real estate business and served as assistant postmaster for Goldfield in the early 1900s.

Scope and Contents Note

The Frank Benham Photograph Collection on Goldfield, Nevada (1900s-1947) primarily contains black-and-white photographic prints of buildings and people in Goldfield, Nevada. Also included in the collection are black-and-white photographic prints of nearby mining towns, as well as postcards and one negative. The negative and one postcard depicts Walter Edward Perry Scott, also known as "Death Valley Scotty" or "Scotty the Desert Mystery," a well-known prospector and the namesake of Scotty's Castle in Death Valley National Park, California. Frank Benham co-owned a real estate business and served as assistant postmaster for Goldfield in the early 1900s.
