Description provided with image: "Customs operation set up at Hughes West Terminal, Las Vegas, Nevada, in 1968. Las Vegas was designated as an International Port of Entry in 1972. At the time this operation was set up Scandinavian Airlines brought delegates from 128 foreign countries to Las Vegas for the American Mining Congress."

Celia Rivero, 2. Johnny Weber, 3. Alfonso Rivero, cousin, 4. Margarita Rivero, mother. Died 1974, 5. Maria (Chuey) Weber, aunt. Deceased. ca. 1938. Picture taken near Tule Springs. Had restaurant, Frank's Cafe, on First St. near Fremont (pres. parking for California Club). Frank Rivero had 3 restaurants: 1 behind present Mint; 2nd near Home Lumber site; and this one. Frank died in 1948. Had Mexican and American food. Made lunches for Boulder Dam crews. Has pictures and made appointment to see her 2-17-82, 3:30 pm. Elko Rooms next to Frank's Restaurant owned by an aunt you came to LV in 1917.'

Crowds and policeman watching as a section of Howard Hughes' "Spruce Goose" or "Flying Boat" was being moved (with a police escort) from the Hughes Aircraft plant in Culver City, California to Terminal Island in the Los Angeles Harbor where the plane was assembled June 1946. Notice workers raising the power lines so the fuselage could pass underneath.
