Scope and Contents

The 2021 addition series (approximately 1954-2021) primarily contains records and publications on the Surveyor program and other aerospace research programs of Hughes Aircraft Company (HAC). This series also includes records from Warren E. Mathews who served as Director of Product Effectiveness at HAC. The materials from Mathews includes information on HAC's history and organization, interdepartmental correspondence, files on program management, as well as Mathews' personal correspondence and biography. This series also includes recordings of the Peninsula Seniors lecture series on the history of HAC and an archived version of Our Space Heritage 1960-2000 blog which provided a forum for former employees to contribute personal memories of their experiences working at HAC as a way of recording and preserving the company's history.
